Waspinator's Trashing

Recommended Posts

Everyone knows Waspinator gets scrapped, smashed, crushed, shot, and just plain slagged more than any other bot in history.

So I was thinking...

Maybe the reason Waspinator could take so much punishment and still live was that since he was possessed by Starscream's Indestructible Spark, it gave him a left-over residual effect of being able to survive extreme damage.

Before being possessed by Starscream, Waspinator didn't get damaged nearly as much, sure he got injured and shot, but after the possession Waspy got brutalized a lot and survived it all.

I haven't seen anyone say much on this. So what do you people think of that theory? Have a better one?

Now I do know that's just the way it was written and someone needed to be the comic relief, but I was meaning it in a Story-wise Explaination.

you know, it's funny - I've actually heard that theory before....

Personally,I would have loved to see Transmetals Waspinator in the show, because his "jet mode" is so reminiscent of an F-15... :D

Well Tarantulus got blow up alot as well, also Inferno would be a very close second to Waspinator.

So do they posses the same ability as Waspinator, even though they were not possesed by starscreams spark.

Inferno only has his head blown off a few times and we've all seen that plays no part in death during Beast Wars. Until Inferno is blown to bits in Nemesis, he never really gets completely blown apart. It's usually just his head. He usually only gets shot and slabbed.

Tarantulas DOES get blown apart as well a few times after he becoems a Transmetal, so that may have a part to play in his survival. Before his TM change he only gets his legs and arms and head knocked or shot off (apparently nothing too severe in BW).

Even when he gets blown apart, he doesn't suffer near the damage that Waspinator does during the show (being crushed into a cube and rammed into bits and other injuries).

Most of Waspinator's "deaths" are simply slapstick-y, comic relief moments that probably weren't meant to be taken seriously (like Dinobot slamming himself into a tree and being flattened).  The times that he had taken "legitimate" damage (like being pelted by Rhinox's chain guns), it was nothing a trip to the CR vat couldn't handle.

you know, i never thought of Waspinator as deliberately evil. he always seemed like a dumb and easily influenced kid who just fell in with the wrong crowd.

hell, maybe hasbro thought so too if it's true that the BM Buzzsaw toy was going to be waspinator at one point.

It would have been good if they had realeased a Beast Machines TechnoOrganic Waspinator like on the show.

That's not true. Buzzsaw was gonna be the "Nightscream" character originally.

P.S. Waspinator was plenty malicious in BW. He never seemed to mind PWNing Maximals. The only time he got uppity about it was when he got sick and tired of following Megatron b/c he got blown up all the time.

Inferno had one of the worst Near Death sequences ever. I was pissed when I saw it because I just knew he was dead for good. On Agenda 2 when he ignites the energon and is, from what you could tell, vaporized. Yet in Optimal Situation he is some how still alive. Worst of all his body is hollow and some what transparent showing no internal components for most of that episode. Forget about Waspinator falling to pieces, Someone explain to me how Inferno could be gutted and still be alive and healing at the same time.

I think you're analyzing it a bit too much. This was the same show that had TM2 Dinobot literally shredding Waspinator.... Waspy also got PANCAKE'D by Optimal Optimus' hands.... so I wouldn't sweat the extreme realism if I were you.
