This is just a little idea that's been nagging at me for a while:

The gold Dalek glided into the research centre, flanked by two of its obsidian-armoured assistants. The assembled bronze hued scientists turned respectfully to attend to their superior.

“Why was I summoned? grated the commander.

The chief scientist moved forward, its arms pointed towards the ground, the equivalent of a sweeping bow.

“We have completed the first stage of integrating the alien technology into our troops. A demonstration has been prepared.

“The council does not see the need to use inferior alien devices within our technology. It is only on the Emperor’s personal recommendation that this is allowed to continue.

“I assure you that this new travel machine will allow us to conquer the most persistent opponents.

“We are already superior!

“With this, we will be unstoppable!

The chief scientist turned to a subordinate.

“Activate the new combat unit!

“I obey!

There was a flurry of activity and a large, semi-transparent tube was lowered into the centre of the room. A shape could be seen within, immersed in fluids.

“Extract cryo-fluid!

“I obey!

Machinery hummed into life. Slowly, the liquid was drained away. With a final hiss, the tube cracked open. The gold and black Daleks slid closer. The object that emerged appeared no different from the creatures in the room. It moved a little uncertainly, but soon gained its bearings and presented itself before the commander.

“Explain your function!

“I am experimental unit X-1, designated advanced combat unit. Function, shock trooper.

The chief scientist extended a probe towards the Dalek.

“It is functioning at optimal levels.

“Proceed with the demonstration!

The scientist swivelled its eye-stick to glare at X-1. This moment would go down in history as the beginning of total Dalek conquest of the entire Universe. Not even the accursed Galactic Federation would be able to stand in their way. Not even…the Doctor.

“Unit X-1…TRANSFORM!
