Following the Plastic Free packaging, it appears there is a good reason Hasbro updated the packaging as they will be adding Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts to the line. Just in are images from Ebay revealing the "Courageous Maximal Warrior" Cheetor will be joining the line, and may have given us our first look at the robot mode for the movie character. - Read the Full News Story

@vicegripx on Instagram drops by with some Transformers: Rise of the Beasts figures in-hand. The images feature shows of the Studio Series Wheeljack, Airazor, Battletrap and a first look at Cheetor! The figures are shown in their alternate modes only, but surely there will be more shots soon. This image confirms the Rise of the Beasts Cheetor Titan Changer, is indeed the TF7 design, with a look at the robot mode. - Read the Full News Story

Following the alternate mode images, it didn't take long for the robot mode images to appear. This is said to be a Studio Series release in the deluxe class, if the comparison images with the Battletrap are any indication. Certainly, the Beast Wars characters are in the movie are going to be controversial no matter what we see. - Read the Full News Story

Not liking this Cheetor as much as I'm liking either Airazor. I think it's the brown. It looks unfinished and not in a skimping on paint apps kind of way. There really looks like there should be quite a bit more paint on this than there is. Or rather it looks like the brown parts are from a color test prototype and that this example was cobbled together using those parts as well as more accurate prototype pieces.

But we won't really know until we get some official images.

Overall though the robot arms don't hide away quite as nicely as they do on Kingdom Cheetor but in exchange, the arms look better. The back and shoulder kibble looks better too. I also do like how the legs transform. It looks like they learned quite a bit from Kingdom Cheetor and Tigatron as well.

    • Finally, we have some official, non-side-released, Rise of the Beasts toys to check out. Beast Combiner Optimus Primal with Skullcruncher is a fun toy, borrowing heavily from the Spark Armor concept from Cyberverse while bringing something new to the table. You really have to like the wink and a nod homage to the very first Beast Wars release from back in the day. While targeted towards younger fans, there's more than a little here for older fans as well.

    • To give context to the "Stomach Of Unicron" one, the outline Sunbow handed to Ron Friedman for his second TFTM script told him to do one thing, the script he turned in depicted quite another thing (outline and script available here): https://sunbowmarvelarchive.blogspot.com/p/mp-4034-transformers-movie-sunbow.html
    • if this is possible box art it has to be something G1 . its an exact match from episode 1 about 8:43 in to the episode
