SDCC 2022 - Transformers Legacy New Products Reveals Live Panel Report

Orion Pax is alright. I'm not really a fan of the SS86 Kup mold though. At least I still have the PotP version for evolution gimmick, TR version for a big beefy boi and the T30 for his own unique mold that still holds up even by today's standards.

Alpha Trion looks good if a bit obvious. If Jhiaxus wasn't going to be his own mold or made from Armada Starscream again, I would've wanted him to be made from Scourge. I think it would've worked out fairly well with some retooling of the wings/shell.

Crankcase looks good. I like the different shoulders. I can't wait to see the shoulder cannon upgrade kits that get made for him.

Dead End looks...odd. Those lower leg proportions look weird. They remind me of the legs on Cyberverse warrior Dead End. Just too long when you factor in how the feet work. At least they work better than the CW mold's legs if they can't look better.

Skullgrin is okay. It looks like they merged the inner robot with the outer shell as it has aspects of both in the robot mode. I just wish he was purple like the G1 and PotP versions and not the dark red again like the Generations version. I still think it's going to be difficult to beat that older Generations version though.

Well, now I see how Pointblank comes with Peacemaker. He's not very complicated and doesn't have a high parts count. It's just annoying that we're getting a Pointblank that looks the way it does yet the Velocitron Blurr wasn't Armada or at least Cybertron Blurr based on Pointblank instead of IDW Blurr based on SS86 Blurr. As with SS86 Kup, I just don't like SS86 Blurr and much prefer the Takara Legends versions regardless of the lack of ankle articulation or screen accuracy. It looks like Pointblank can easily have a second robot mode by flipping around the torso. If not Armada/Cybertron Blurr then maybe into Punch/Counterpunch or Drift? It shouldn't be too difficult to change the way the shoulders work to point the kibble in different directions for each of the different characters. With it having so few parts and with a Targetmaster that can be excluded, it should be easy to budget in retools with this mold. Hell, Blurr can even come with a Minicon instead of the Targetmaster at that point too.

We've already seen both Inferno and Starscream. They still look good. Antagony is obviously going to happen but I'd also like to see a retool into Transquito. It shouldn't be too difficult. I want all the Starscream redecos and retools as well including another Jhiaxus.

Megatron. That looks really good. I have Jiang Xing's TMII Megatron and I still think this one looks amazing. It's such a lean and clean robot mode. I can't wait for Cryotek as that mold is going to pop in blue.

I feel like they had the opportunity to make this better then the third party versions and hasbro didn’t deliver. The proportions are off. Kingdom Megatron looks incredible why couldn’t they do that with the TM2 Megatron. This almost looks as bad as the beast machines Megatron.
