Transformers Tuesday - The official Transformers SNS has posted two new reveals giving us our first look at the Transformers Legacy Iguanus and Skywarp core class wave 1 figure. The much-anticipated reveal of Iguanus is here with a neat little remake of the original Pretender character. As expected, there would be redecos of core Starscream as the other Seekers and here is the first with Skywarp.

Gotta love when the stock photos are slightly mistransformed. It looks like Iguanus' knees should tab into the tail for motorcycle mode to help solidify the back end. As much as I wanted BW Iguanus, this is everything I expected when it was leaked that it was G1 Iguanus and I love it. Iguanus was one of my favorite Pretenders back in the day for some reason. I think I'm going to miss having the wheels as a "weapon" though but I guess Arcee has that covered. Just kind of wish the tail had a hinge or something. He looks loaded with articulation though. Ball jointed shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles as well as sockets in the feet to allow ankle pivots as part of the transformation and a waist swivel also due to transformation. Maybe the head can move as well. The backpack looks to clean up pretty nice too. A very well designed little figure.

Odd that Skywarp doesn't also come with the Null Rays as it's a very Hasbro thing to have redecos come with the older weapons with the new ones. I guess the eventual flood of black Null Rays on Ebay will actually have a purpose unlike the flood of grey ones currently. Like what is actually wrong with the ones that come with Starscream that new ones needed to be designed?

Those weapons are odd though. They look like they should combine into something but these two don't seem to be able to combine with each other in any meaningful way. One looks like a sword guard and the other looks like like the start of a trident. Maybe wave 2 will have two more pieces that are similar that will combine with these two. Then wave 3 will have a third piece for each. So the one that comes with Iguanus would need a hilt and blade. The one that comes with Skywarp would need the pole and the center prong.

Am I the only one who sees iganus and thinks "hmmmmmmmm, that would make a workable Cy-Kill!"???

I'd rather see Studio Series Wreck Gar be reworked into Cy-Kill but I'll take both.

Iguanus is awesome. I will be getting this and all other Pretenders. When I heard Legacy was doing Pretenders I was hoping for a deluxe or voyager figure with a updated shell design. But that's fine. This works and easier on the budget.

Skywarp just as amazing as Starscream so nothing new there but do not like they took his null rays guns. I don't want t have to purchase 3rd party weapon pack for more $$$ when Hasbro should have just added it.

I'd love a Cy-Kill. He had a small cameo in recent IDW issue.

    • @Joe Velez Just a guess, but the movie being delayed may be why Legacy is being extended. Which, if you look what we've seen from ROTB, it is more or less Generations again.
    • I'm not questioning the Generations moniker. I'm questioning the Legacy moniker. The series after Legacy will be named something else. Legacy is said to just be for this year only and they're going back to another trilogy. So it was the Prime Wars Trilogy with Generations: Combiner Wars, Generations: Titans Return and Generations Power of the Primes. Then it was Generations: War For Cybertron Trilogy with Generations: WFC: Siege, Generations: WFC: Earthrise and Generations WFC: Kingdom. During one of the livestreams or during a Q and A the Hasbro team stated that Generations: Legacy will only be going on for a single year and they haven't named the next trilogy yet. Again, Legacy will not be the name of the toyline for next year. Sure they could have changed their minds or even extended Legacy past the four waves it was supposed to be but the name of "Legacy" won't be continuing after the line is done. Legacy was inserted in between the trilogies due to all of the complaints about not having gotten Tarantulas and Inferno. So instead of shoehorning them into the next trilogy, they created a short run line to get out a few ideas that weren't completely finished or were cut from WFC. Some of the other figures were probably meant for the next Trilogy as well. But we all know Hasbro loves to reissue the same figures for multiple waves and even sublines like Wheeljack and Arcee. They gotta get those peg warmers back out there even though people want a second chance at Sunstreaker and the Battlechargers. So I'm not questioning authority...this time. I'm questioning the leaker and their knowledge of the information regarding the Legacy line as stated by Hasbro themselves. And still, this list just screams that it's fake with those choices. It's so not Hasbro. Just not enough G1. Other than the core class which don't really count, the only G1 figure in that "Legacy" line up was the Junkion and Needlenose. Needlenose has been on their minds for like five years now and they just haven't put him out yet. As for Velocitron wave two, not enough G1. Going by Blurr, the Hot Rod is most likely going to be IDW. Crasher doesn't count as G1 and neither does Shadow Striker. The rest would have to all be G1 characters then. It's just what Hasbro does. Again, I would love to be wrong though. I want all of them. Especially Crasher, Shadow Striker, Armada Megatron and Prime Skyquake. I love getting fembots and Skyquake and Megatron had such good designs. Oh and Tarn just because Hasbro has never done him before.
    • Time got away from me yesterday but "Friday"'s video was Transformers Animated Blitzwing and, funny enough, I feel like the way I feel about this guy is likely to be how my thoughts would fall for Legacy Blitzwing. Like, I am feeling potential parallels, at least for me.  https://youtu.be/R1LKKCVQjs0
