transformers: rebirth

Recommended Posts

i was just watching transformers rebirth when i realized something... the animation quality of most of the opening sequence actually turned out to be a whole lot better than the animation in the actual cartoon itself. what's with that? and why was Battletrap (the duocon) in the opening sequence when he wasn't even in the cartoon himself?

The openign sequence was a combination of all the "Masters" and late 86- mid 87 toy commercials spliced together. It just combined most of them into a "semi-conherant" opening sequence. That is also why Flywheels (not Battletrap) is in the opening as well.

That opening sequence rawked! I had both of the Duocons....might make intersting Alternators.... but it was weird that the opening sequence was way better than the cartoon.

The Opening was a splice of several Toy Commercials around at that time. That is why the animation was better. It wasn't Akom doing it's normal shoddy job of animation.

i see...

hmmm...

if i were to improve one thing about rebirth, i'd get the animators of the toy commercials to do the animation for the actual cartoon itself... but since that's like, nearly 20 years ago, that's kinda wishful thinking...

...........if they ever remake the g1 cartoon

They have remade the G1 cartoon. It's called "Energon".

while we're on the topic of animation..

"their mental powers grew, while their bodies withered away."

then we see Lord Zarak, who looks like a He-Man reject... withered away? pshaw.

:tflaugh It was just a stuffed bodysuit.

I remember how psyched I was when I first watched Rebirth. I was like "yes! this is gonna be awesome!" and then the opening finished and the actual episode started. Meh.

Just proves that no effort was put into G1 animation at all. If the commercials are even better than today's animation, meaning someone is very lazy and we are the ones who suffer.
