Certain Alt/BT's just can't be made

Recommended Posts

Have you guys/gals ever realyl thougth about this...

Many trucks and SUV's will NEVER be made because they won't fit into the boxes and have a small dimension enough to get made. Hasbro already made the boxes a bit smaller with the new style.

And many of these Hummers, SuperDuties and whatnot would never fit in those boxes if they were truly 1:24th scale. It seems obvious that many of these will never get made, isn't it just a drag?

I really want some larger vehicles like Trucks and SUV's and such, but seriously I don't think Hasbro is gonna even bother with it and it's gonna be an almost straight car line with a few, very few, SUV's thrown in here and there. Vans also aren't gonna be very good for the current way Hasbro is doing it. The vans would have to be very compact.

Any thoughts? And before someone goes on a crusade that I hate Alts/BT's I don't. I love them, for the most part. I really like Hound, Smokescreen, Silverstreak, Sideswipe, Jazz/Meister, and Tracks a lot, but my concern still stands as a valid one.

It's not just fitting in the box, as much as the fact that there's twice as much surface area. This means both extra cost to manufacture, AND lots and lots of kibble.

The knockoff SUV alternator posted a couple weeks back was actually not bad in either respect, but it was at the wrong scale and it looked strange, and I don't know if it had the full useable interior that the other cars have. So I don't know how possible it is.

Most of the pick up trucks that I've seen as model kits come in 1:25 scale, which would probably make them small enough for the Alternator line.

Easy solution, bigger boxes.

Easy solution, bigger boxes.

It's not like the other lines all come in one box size. Imagine trying to fit Bulkhead or Prime in the same boxsize as the Mega's.
