Replacement Stacks

I don't have them, but someone replied in another thread that they were tighter and don't spring.

I don't have the stacks, but I assume it's because they were recasted off the MP Convoy stacks, and then chromed on top of that. In which case, they would be a bit tight, because you've got an extra layer of chrome on top of a shape that was fitted perfectly pre-chrome.

If you want them to spring properly, you might have to lightly sand the peg that they're mounted on down a bit. Taking the chrome off the inside of the smokestack loop might cause the chrome to flake off.

They are not cast off the original, but anyway, yes they are to tight and sanding down is the only remedy if you want it to flip back again, but I advice against it and just leave it be.

the stacks were designed to be a little bit tight. They are not recasts MX but have been redesigned from scratch. It was an effort to better understand the toy making process. The piece to make the attachemnt to the Prime was by far the hardest piece to get right and after several attempts it came out the way I wanted it.

You can file down the stack, that is the best answer, please do not do any sanding on your Prime figures. It is much easier to replace a set of the stacks moreso then replacing a Prime figure if you do something wrong. The vacu-forming is done well and I have done a few tests with scratching some of it off and it does not flake very easy. A small file or some fine sandpaper in the hole will take off enough to make the spring function work.

I did have the hold make tight because I have had requests to make it hold a pose moreso then have the spring back feature. To this day I am not sure what exactly that feature is good for. With them tight, when installed you can decide if you want the spring feature or not. Or if you loose the spring durring instalation then it will not effect the stacks much either.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Spencer.
