Best Buy Transformers: Dark of the Moon Exclusive Slip-Cover Edition

Recommended Posts

In the on-going efforts to lure fans into their retail outlets. We have yet another not so exclusive offering from Best Buy. The retailer will be breaking from the standard packaging fray with their very own Best Buy Exclusive clip cover. Thanks to the jdpitaco over at blu-ray.com who posted an image. We get a look at the slip with two different sides showing head-shots of Bumblebee on the front and Shockwave on the back. Read the Full News Story Here

Are there going to be any editions with exclusive content like Walmart having the ROTF extended forest battle scene or is it all just packaging. If it's just packaging then that's pretty lame.

Hmmm, I wonder if mall store FYE will have an exclusive. It's when you can get a real lithograph (not a piece of paper) that makes the exclusive edition worth it.

I didn't know FYE still existed. They all went out of business in my area.

There are still a few FYE's around. There is one in the mall closest to me, although their prices are jacked up like TRU.

I'm gonna wait till it comes out on the 30th to decide which version to buy. I'll probably hit Target, WalMart, and Best Buy(all 3 by me) I bought the WlaMArt for RotF due to the extended scenes. So if any of those stores have something like it i'll get that one, if not i'll buy mine at WalMart as thats where it'll be the cheapest.

I've only seen the in-mall FYEs left. I think they just closed up their large stores.

In my area (east central Illinois) the mall locations closed down. I honestly didn't know FYE had independent stores.

In my area (this sounds like some sort of internets competition ;) ) FYE took over the old Media Play stores... but strangely just seemed like Media Play with FYE signs. They even sold the same used DVDs and CDs with the same orange stickers on them... Well obviously Media Play failed at that format but FYE bought out their warehouses and attempted to give it a shot doing the same exact thing in the same exact buildings. As a result... they closed up shop just like Media Play. With the exception of the fact FYE had mall stores... but those went out of business at the same time. For some screwed up reason, FYE decided to re-open (at least 1 of) these mall stores doing the exact same thing they originally did before the Media Play experiment. Some companies never learn. :tflaugh

Crazy!

So who else misses Suncoast?

Suncoast was good for Anime. Like most places now, you had to be part of their frequent shopper club to get any decent deals. Believe it or not, there is a standalone FYE still in business in uptown Modesto CA

But back on track here...

Do retailers really think a simple Blu-Ray jacket is enough to be 'exclusive'? Please :roll
