Can someone create

Recommended Posts

There use to be an idiots guide to kitbashing a long time ago, but it was deleted by its creator. Could someone please create a new one?

Look I`m not going to say that it is easy to do kit bashes. However you simply need to use trial and error as with most things in life it`s all about practice makes perfect. I can tell you the basic steps but as for each individual kit bash each one is different.

This is a kit bash guide for alternators.

Step 1:Start by chosing who you want to make.

Step 2:Sellect what kind of vehicle you want to make it into.

Step 3:Alright now try to sketch it out and then try to sketch out the transformation (i.e. this part moves this way this part moves that way)

Step 4:Now this is very important find a PLASTIC MODEL KIT of the vehicle you want it to turn into.(Metal is a real pain to try to cut through.)

Step 5:Get an Alternator which has similar part to what you need. Smokescreen works good for most transformations. There are some really good uses for Side Swipes parts for instance I used the double hing and rear wheels and arms in the frontend of my Rodimus Prime Ram Alternator to give him the fold down chest but it is glued to the stearing arm attachment from Smokescreen under the head.

Step 6:Paint the vehicle body`s shell.

Step 7:this is where the fun really starts refer to your sketches to cut the car body appart where it needs be cut in order to transform.

Step 8:start puting him together again your sketches are your best reference source.

Step 9: once you get him together so he transforms take him back appart and repaint his bot mode parts (i.e. head, aarms, and legs)

Step 10:once dry put him back together seal every thing with clear coat spray so you don`t rub the paint off when playing with it.

Step 11:Take pics and post them here so we can see them.

That is all I can tell everyone about it.It looks simple but beleave me it really is not. The most important thing I can tell you is DON`T GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT! :tfgrin
