Ok, most of you probably have taken advantage of the Toys R Us sale on Animated Deluxes for the low,low price of $6.49!!!!, but have you guys used that "$10 gift card w/ $75 purchase" coupon with the purchase? Told me not with sale items.

 

Anybody else tried using this coupon?

Most retailers won't allow a 'stack' like that. Most coupons/sales flyers will state "Not good with any other promotion". You have to choose one or the other. The figures were already deeply discounted... now you want to use a coupon on top of that? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

What I'm getting at is the coupon ran for 2 weeks now.

The first week, it was valid on the Slave I exclusive pack (which was/is on sale) that I picked up.

On Sunday, it was valid on sale Animated Deluxes and some assorted regular priced items.

Two days later, its not valid on any sale items.

Thats what's hard to swallow at the register. If the girl told me that they had to implement a restriction on the coupon then thats fine. But don't try to feed me the lie that it was never valid on sale purchases.

Then you simply had the benefit of having previous checkers that didn't enforce the rule. It's standard practice for any retailer to deny stacking promotions. TRU's computer system obviously doesn't prevent it, so it's the checker's responsibility to ensure the double stacking doesn't occur. I've worked for 2 different retailers in my life, neither one allowed multiple discounts. You had to choose one or the other.

Transformers are cheaper at Walmart and Target.

Here's my beef.

 

On Sunday, I got up bright and early, headed down to Toys R Us at 8 am, and bought a load of Animated Deluxe figures for my little nephews....and myself :P. Even got some Arcees and Ratchets! My purchase totaled nearly $80 something and I was able to use the coupon. I got that $10 card.

 

Today, I went in looking to pick up that role-play Bumblebee Helmet and Bumblebee Arm Blaster for $20 a piece (Damn i wish i had an uncle like me when I was a kid). Today they had Animated Hot Rodimus and Ironhides on the pegs...but they scanned at $17.49 :tdown . I went to customer service and inquired about the price difference. The customer service girl told me that she could price adjust them to the $6.49 price; she thought that i'd got them out of the big bin of animated stuff with the $6.49 price tag. Hella score! 2x Ironhide, 4x Hot Rodimus. The checkout girl tells me that i can't use the coupon b/c its "stacking" promotions. She tells me that the computer won't allow it. I tell her I got one on sunday with similar items. She persists.

I can't use the coupon.

 

Gave me a WTF moment, but the lines were long and I did get some mean deals, so i sucked it up.

 

Anybody else getting gripes with this coupon?

 

 

So you're complaining about getting 4 Rodimus & 2 Ironhide figs for $6.49 a piece ??? Oh I feel SO BAD for you man :roll

 

If they were even in the store where I worked, which they are not, they would still be at $14.99 each. So get over it...

Askin about other ppls experience using the coupon Ardenhobo, not complaining about 6 dollar toys. I guess "hella score" vocalizes a complaint where u come from.
