Renaming a repaint 2

Recommended Posts

Last year I showed a rename and profiles for the repaints of Cybertron Vector Prime and his mini con Safeguard. Now I've done another one, this time for the Armada repaints, and slight retools, of Armada Cheetor and the mini con that came with him called Cliffjumper.

I've renamed them as Takeback and Jials, here are the pictures if no one has seen them:

Takeback and Jials alt modes

- Flight mode and alt mode

- Robot modes

- Takeback in his blaster mode

And their profiles:

'Name: Takeback

Motto: Does facing the future mean losing our past?

Bio: Before the Maximal upgrade after the Great War, Takeback was proud to be an Autobot. Back then he was just one of many front line troops who followed his orders to the letter and fought against the Decepticons with pride and faith in the Autobot ideals.

He was also not very fond of change.

After the Great War ended and the Pax Cybertronia was created, Takeback found himself with little to do in a time of peace. And even worse was the news about an upgrade called The Maximal Upgrade which would reformat the body into a smaller, more fuel efficient design.

While it sounded promising Takeback was unsure due in part to his own feelings that such an upgrade would make all that the Autobots had fought and died for over the centuries seem like a minor footnote.

With his aging body becoming a problem however then Takeback found he had little choice but to undergo the upgrade if he wanted to avoid becoming little more than a walking framework.

His feelings still haven’t changed now that he’s been upgraded. He hates his smaller form, he hates his beast mode and misses his former vehicle mode and he hates that he feels like he’s sold himself out because of his lack of choice in the matter.

He is still loyal to the Autobot cause however and accepts that the Maximals share the same kind of ideals, though he has his doubts and longs for the days when he was an Autobot and charging into battle against the Decepticons, not that he’s a violent person by any means, he’s just dedicated.

The only person he ever truly gets along with is his long term companion, an Autobot who requested becoming a Mini Con due to almost dying in the final battle that brought about the end of the Great War, called Jials.

Abilities: In beast mode Takeback transforms into a robotic cheetah with a top land speed of around 200 MPH, as long as he isn’t slowed down by uneven terrain. He doesn’t like to go so fast though, makes him dizzy.

In flight mode his speed remains the same, though he prefers to go slowly instead of going so fast that he’ll fly into anything.

In robot mode he uses his tail from his beast and flight modes as a combined whip and scythe while using his hands, when brought together, as a clumsy blaster. He misses his rifle a lot. He’s still fast in this form and can withstand a fair amount of punishment, however he prefers to go slow when he can and to avoid being hit too much while taking the fight to whoever is attacking him.

Also with the assistance of Jials, Takeback can use a protective field, though it doesn’t last long due to the amount of power it can take from both of them.

Weakness: Takeback’s longing for the old days tend to make him unpopular among those who feel the old days are better left in the past. While his loyalty is unquestioned, his patriotic dedication towards the Autobots can make his friends wonder if he’ll ever accept that change is for the better.

Takeback’s preference for being slow despite his capabilities for being faster can make him an easy target, and annoy anyone who’s with him, except for Jials who feels the same way.

Name: Jials

Motto: Size can mean little when it comes to experience

Bio: In the centuries before the Pax Cybertronia, Jials was an Autobot who worked alongside his friend Takeback in pretty much every battle, every mission. They supported one another, fought back to back and always protected one another. If one was injured, the other would get them to safety, patch them up and they would return to the fight.

In the battle that would eventually lead to the end of the Great War, Jials was badly damaged and Takeback was unable to help him. After the battle Jials requested that in order to save his spark, that he be transferred into a much smaller body, that of a more recent working class drone Mini Con which had lost it’s own spark following an accident.

It took him time to adapt to being so small, eventually though he learned how to make use of his smaller size and underwent several upgrades so that he could use his smaller form to help out his friend Takeback, who had undergone the Maximal upgrade.

He also adopted a vehicle form for himself, which although small, made him feel better.

While he does miss the old days and understands his friend’s doubts about the future of the Transformer race since he also feels that the much younger Maximals, any who weren’t former Autobots, should listen to their Autobot elders a lot more, he also feels that this is better than being dead.

There are days though when he wishes that he still had his former body.

Abilities: In vehicle mode Jial’s small size makes it hard for him to maintain a fast speed, not that he’s too bothered. The offroad design of his vehicle mode allows him to act as a scout for Takeback.

In robot mode Jial’s doesn’t have much strength and has very few weapons, something he finds regrettable. He can use pistols though, as long as they aren’t bigger than he is, and has learned how to use his vehicle mode’s towline as a weapon as well as firing energy bursts from his hands.

Weaknesses: His small size can make him pretty vulnerable if he has no back up to watch out for him, his lack of strong weapons mean he usually has to hope that Takeback can protect him should things become violent.

He hates feeling so helpless a lot of the time, yet knows that at least he’s alive. His longing for the old days when he wasn’t so small can cause him to complain loudly.'

You might notice that it's a little tongue in cheek poke at those who vastly prefer the 'old days' of Generation One over any line. I'm fond of G1 myself, but I do like other lines as well.

Since a friend is sending me Transmetal Cheetor soon, I felt giving the repaint I just bought - I saw the chance and took it since he was very hard to find for a long time - a rename and new persona was better and more fitting.

Im gonna get the Desert Ruin repaint of Brawl from Wal-Mart and he comes with a repaint of legends Jolt. Havent thought entirely what I want to rename them tho.

Im thinking something as simple as "Ruin" for Brawl and perhaps while I'm at it "Rack" for the lil Jolt. Then I'll have Rack n' Ruin! (I know they are dead Wreckers :redface)
