Alt Tracks Review

ALT Tracks Review

Well I finally found Tracks and “Jazz at my local walmart. My feelings on these toys can be put in three simple words;

BEST.ALTs.EVAH

But this is a Tracks only review

CAR MODE

While I am not particularly a fan of Corvettes this car mode is a thing of beauty! Back is the metallic finish paint job found on Hound and Silverstreak, something that Dead End was sorely missing. The car seems flawless in design to the actual corvette model. The hood opens correctly (meaning the opposite way of a normal hood) and both doors swing open. Here is the only place that I have an issue. The “missile parts of the Robot mode are clearly seen when the doors are open. While they are supposed to resemble running boards, they just look like white missiles. The vehicle features the corvette emblem on the trunk and the Z...uh whatever emblems on the sides and front (sorry it’s not in front of me :P)

TRANSFORMATION

Now I have to say that this is one toy I’m glad I don’t have the BT version of. The thought of the amount of possible paint chipage makes me shutter. The transformations is a Starscream! Now some of you “I’m the greatest and don’t need instructions and your lame internet tough guys out there are going to argue with me, but this guy is a pain. ONLY because of the parts on the legs having to fit between the windshield and the door swivel joints. You’ll see when you get it.

ROBOT MODE

Have you ever beheld greatness? No? then buy this toy NOW!!! First, the paint apps on the parts of the robot NOT seen in car mode are astounding!! The whole damn thing seems like it was molded out of some futuristic metal. The head is dead on to GeeWun tracks (as illustrated in the Dreamwave comic) and the faux roof on his chest along with the over the shoulder missiles ensures that there can be no mistaking who this character is. His posability is top notch, neck shoulders, mid arms, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, thighs, double knees. His torso has plates that lift out when the legs are fully extended out (like Masterpiece Prime....Nyagghh X-Bob :P).

It’s a hard pick between Tracks and Miester for Alt supremacy but in the end I chose Tracks for the major divergence from the other Alts in terms of Robot Mode.

BUY THEM NOW!!!!

Nice job. I was getting tired of all this boring objectivity in TF toy reviews recently.

(I'm only half-joking -- it's nice to see how enthusiastic you are about Tracks.)

*waits for Meister review*

Nice review. He is a bit of a pain to pull apart, especially his front. My only real issues with Tracks are the pseudo-metallic blue plastic looks dull and his head doesn't really have much up/down range like the others ... I guess you could say he has no neck at all.

yeah his head is a little on the stiff side, almost like an energon toy, but none the less he's awesome

I found Tracks this weekend as well, and purchased him despite the fact that the day before, my BT-06 Tracks arrived from BBTS.

I did it because he is by far the best BT/Alt I've gotten my hands on, and Meister is the only one that has been released that I don't have yet. (BT Meister is on his way to me.)

I may be odd, but Tracks I have found to be the easiest one to transform, followed closely by Hound. His legs ARE a pain, but not nearly as bad as the arms on the Vipers or Subarus.

As for the paint chipping worry, I've transformed my BT Tracks at least 6 times without any damage - although, I AM very careful.

I'm going to have to purchase a Battle Ravage Alt when he becomes available, for my fiancee, who is a Corvette afficionado and likes black.

Boy, if she were a cat lover, it'd be the perfect gift...

As a matter of fact, she is also fond of cats.

But I'll betcha money the thing will be taken out of the box, and never transformed. Gotta get her more into TFs before that happens.....:)

As soon as I found out she liked vettes, I asked her which color she wanted. Of course, it had to be the one that's NOT released yet.
