Alrighty, so i used to custom paint my old transformers movie toys.

But during then, i just dry brushed everything. I stoped painting and now im thinking of custom painting the Devastavor toy.

But i wanne start on something small. So im thinking of going out and buying spray paint cans.

Im gonna use Krylon Fusion/ For Plastic.

Now im thinking of buying these three:

1) Sand down the peices, 400 grits about.

2) Wash the piece, so theres no oil.

3) Set up, new paper etc etc,

4) Spray Thin Coats of the Adhesion.

5) Wait a bit and start painting the mask/peice with 2-3 light coats of the paint, waiting about 3 minutes between each coat.

6) After all that, wait a bit and do a light clear paint gloss finish.

 

And thats the order of the cans im gonna use. First imma lightly spray it with the Adhesion, wait few minutes and start coating it with light coats of the Krylon and the color my choice. After a few coats imma spray it with the Clear Gloss so it has that shiny plastic look to it.

 

Would that work nicely?

Any tips and tricks on using these on plastic toys?

The only advice I can really give you is to apply the coats lightly in several layers and build the colors as you go, rather than one heavy coat.
