Classics 2-pack megatron must be decapitated

Recommended Posts

I've been working on the same damn custom figure dor the last 2 yeas, and have mode no progress cause I'm just lazy.

anyway, basically i want to switch energon tow-line's head wth that of classics 2-pack megatron.

I have megatron, but I cannot remove the head because of the way it is fitted.

help is very welcome :)

You can do it very easily, if you have a soldering iron. Basically all you do is put contact to the pin that is attached to the head with the soldering iron, wait till it heats it up and then tug on the head until it comes off with a little bit of pressure. That's how I removed the head from one of my 2 pack Megatrons to make my custom "Brute Megatron" pictured here

If you want to do customs, that's almost something you will need because you will find there are several times this is the only way to remove parts on a TF. :thumb

Well, you could at least find someone who has one and borrow it from them if money is the reason. If you are just lazy....well can't help you there. :roll

  • 2 weeks later...

I've decapitated two of these suckers so far (I removed one and replaced it with a Universe Hound noggin' for a Brawl/Bruticus custom I've been working on and the other I used on another custom I'll post up sometime).

To get the tank Megs head off, I took a hobby knife and trimmed a very tiny but from under the head (around the neck) and then used a Leatherman Tool blade to work up under it and pry the head off the pin. It took a little force, but wasn't too hard. You can always use the soldering iron method, but for this, you really don't need it. The head is on pretty solid, so be careful if you attempt to use a knife/blade to help pry the head up.

Good luck with it and let us know if you get it sorted out.
