Hello all--recently, I've been working on my Strongarm-to-Huffer repaint, and it's going pretty smoothly. I'm almost done, should have the pictures up soon, but now I'm afraid I've got the bug. I'm desperately looking for someone else to repaint, and so far I've settled on Skyblast and Battle Ravage. Heck, they're cheap and pretty numerous out here in ABQ.

Now, once Huffer is done, I'm going to move onto Skyblast. The only problem is, I have a few different ideas in mind. The conehead look he's got going on has me thinking of doing a repaint as Powerglide, but all that maroon is kinda boring. So, I was thinking of maybe turning him into either Dirge or even Ramjet.

As far as Battle Ravage--whoo, man, I'm stuck. A friend of mine told me to paint him lime green and call him GIR (cue the Doom Song!), and all things considered, I'm seriously taking that into consideration.

 

Now, I emplore you--are there any other ideas for these two characters, or anyone that you would like to see? I'm just starting over, as my skills have been somewhat diminished from disuse, so I'm sticking to purely repaints at this time. But if you have any ideas for Skyblast or Battle Ravage mods, let me know. Up next: Signal Flare!

Could you post a pic of skyblast and battle ravage?

 

Are you repainting them to be homages? or just looking for some sweet repaint ideas?

I was aiming to do homages, but I'm open to any suggestions. I can't post any pics right now because: 1) my camera is gone and can't be found, and 2) I haven't actually started painting them yet--I'm still working on Huffer. I'm a full-time student and work full-time, so it's pretty much done in intervals.

i think dirge is a wonderful idea....maybe with black energon? You could also maybe use his design to paint him to resemble a ship from the game R-Type. Just a thought.

 

As for Battle Ravage, as much as I love Gir, I think that would be a waste of talent. Perhaps repaint him as G1 Ravage with grey where the offwhite is. Also, create holes in his back legs for the weapons to fit in maybe? I dunno. Another idea is model some parts onto and make him a fiend of chaos (like a bloodhound from Warhammer.)

I actually meant pictures of the original toys (I had no idea what they looked like) but I looked it up.

 

Skyblast: Either Thrust, Dirge, Ramjet, or Blitzwing

Battle Ravage: Either Cheetor, Original Ravage (ALL black), or just an original paint job.

 

Sorry thats about all I can suggest.

I would probably go with any of the seekers for Skyblast. It would be kinda cool to see a chibi StarScream or something.

 

As for Battle Ravage, hows about a yellowish color scheme for the Autobot casette Steeljaw?

 

I realize that the opposing team insignia's (Autobot Skywarp?) would create an asthetic problem..but what the hey.. Can't wait to see your work!

i think you could probably turn skyblast into g1 jetfire pretty easily and with ravage paint him yellow and silver and have him be the g1 lion autobot cassete
