Upgrades

I just wanted to say to all that it has been a good year for us kitbashers! There have been a tremendous amount of projects come through and I feel fortunate to be among the ranks with my own customs. This year has been very special to me because it has been my very first year as a kitbasher. Thank you to all of you for your positive feedback. Also props to everyone for each of your awesome bashes! Let's make 2006 even better!

I want to make Alternators Hound into a MINI Cooper, I was wondering if anyone knew if Hound was small enough or another Alternator would work better? Also, Any suggestions on how to do this would help.

i don't know if it was posted on this board to begin with but i am looking for an alternator shockwave figure. it was the one where someone went and kitbashed alternator shockblasts head and gun onto alternator grimlocks body. the guy even managed to do the figure justice when it comes to the generation 1 shockwave colorscheme he gave the figure. does anybody have any pictures of this shockwave kitbash because i am seriously thinking of doing this one myself

Are paint pens the best thing to use when painting eyes on a figure, or just for line detailing? Also, what brand should I get? The only ones I've seen are made by Rust-oleum, and I've heard some horror stories about using Rust-Oleum on plastic. If anyone could take the time to answer these, it would be greatly appreciated. :thumb

I've been pondering the feasibility of taking a model kit of a Su-27 fighter and using that as a basis for an "Alt" seeker. It wouldn't be overly difficult to do it if one were to copy the transformation of a G1 seeker, but then it wouldn't be an Alt, except in jet mode I guess. My question then is, have any of yous ever designed a transformation sequence from scratch? If so, any tips?

OK, I have a 1/60th scale Yamato Roy Fokker VF-1S. It's the one with the STRIKE armor, and the problem is that when I stand him up in Battloid mode and attach the missile pod and laser rifle to his back, the latch on the backpack isn't strong enough to hold up the weight for very long. Is there a way to either reinforce the (admittedly structurally weak) "latch" that holds the backpack to his backside (with the packs unattached, it holds up just fine) or to create some kind of new latch to hold it together while still letting it transform? Mind you I' just in need of a quick fix -- I'm by no means an expert at this and I'm not looking to ruin something I paid $137 for, so…

Here's the official unveiling of my two latest customs: Japanese Guard City (Defensor) & Battle Gaia (Bruticus) They are are close as I can get them, of course they don't have stickers, as there aren't any available except for plain Defensor and Bruticus stickers from Reprolables. So Battle Gaia, doesn't have the other colors on his battle beast plate and on Guard City, I don't have his waist piece. But I don't think it's half bad! What do you guys think? Here's what the real ones look like for comparison:
