Anyone know of any other sales that are going on this week? I think the ones from last week, including TRU's spend $25, get a free real gear and movie deluxes for 7.99 is over, as well as Targets 17.99 for voyager class toys. Are there any other deals going on this week? Although I don't have any desire for the real gear toys, I got 4 of them, and kind of wish I picked up the last few movie figures last week and just gotten all 6 for free. Oh well. Also, what are some decent websites for finding TFormers online? Amazon is nuts, and ebay is somewhat of a hassle. Other than BBTS, anyone have any suggestions on websites that offer decent prices with decent stock?

We’ve occasionally interviewed collectors with very extreme views and collecting habits, but individuals such as those can sometimes represent the minority. This month we spotlight a proud family man with strong faith who is a self-confessed sports fan, gamer, and blogger. He also has a healthy obsession with Transformers which has led to him being interviewed by a local television channel and featured online. Other than that and his mega collection, he’s not that different to you and I, and that gives his insight and views on the Transformers collecting community a very relevant spin. If you were trying to sell the concept and qualities of the Transformers Animated toy line to a non-collector, or an enthusiast who doesn’t collect Animated, which one toy would you pick to represent and ‘sell’ the line? What about Generation 1 1984 to 1986? And Masterpiece? DOTM? These are the questions we put to our contributors, and their responses demonstrate the kind of insight – and surprises – that we hoped an article series like this would produce. The question they were asked was as follows: “What toy would you choose to represent an entire toy line, if you had ONE choice, one toy you could pitch to a non-collector in order to sell the line?”. Amba…

Regular and long-time readers of this blog will remember when I could produce a ‘News To Me’ article, reporting on newly discovered vintage Transformers variants or secrets, every few months. It’s been nearly two years since the last article of this type, such has been my shift in collecting focus and the slowdown of finds from the early days of the brand. Finally, though, there have been enough discoveries of note – or rather things I finally learned of – that I can produce another chapter in this series of articles demonstrating that there’s still a mystery or two to be had in vintage collecting. Last week we discussed some of the finest official Hasbro and Takara Transformers toy headsculpts with the help of fellow collectors. This week we look at some of the standout headsculpts from unofficial 3rd party Transformers toys. While there may not be as much to choose from, and arguably 3P companies often fail to scale the heights official figures do when it comes to headsculpts, some companies really know how to nail a character. PLEASE keep in mind that only 5 members of the entire global Transformers community have contributed to this article, it is not meant to be a top 5 of the best 3P headsculpts, just 5 people's opinions, a tiny cross section. Just somethi…

He was supposed to be first, but he is coming out fourth. Mastermind Creations (or MMC) are about to unleash R-02 Mercenary Aerial Assaulter Talon on the fandom at large, representing their interpretation and considerable update of the Transformers G1 Predacon Divebomb. Talon is the fourth member of Feral Rex (MMC’s Not-Predaking) after R-03 Bovis (Not Tantrum), R-05 Fortis (Not Headstrong) and R-04 Leo Dux (Not Razorclaw).
