  1. I can totally appreciate the overwhelming feeling of being closed in by having too many figures on display around you. I am in that same dilemma now and I'm about to do the same as the written in the TF1 article, sell some of my mass produced stuff. As having been a collector for the past few decades, I have since had the feeling of "drawing down" concerning my collection. I have a man cave, but as I have gotten older I have felt the need to support the "less is better" way of thinking. Too much clutter can ruin a figure display and I want to really appreciate the items that initially brought me into the hobby. In short, those are truly the only items that I want to have a visual focus on. So, off the Craigslist, Ebay and other forums to thin out this mass of plastic crack, with a hint of die-cast of course.
  2. My Metroplex arrived today as well. FEDEX is really busy. And you're right, that shipping box was huge. I'm also in the same boat as you regarding the amount of money I have spent on Transformers within the last 30-40 days.
  3. Found Masterpiece Soundwave today at TRU here in San Diego. They only had two of them available and no holds. Can't wait to get it open.
  4. Oh I wasn't saying that what we were getting was what was in the picture....just that they used the wrong picture.....I am sure we'll get the correct figure...I just found that to be yet another small detail they didn't get right when putting it up. :tfevil Absolutely, I guess they were just in a hurry to get a photo of the item up for sale. Did you get one as well? If so, did you get it from sdcc or HTS? Mine hasn't been shipped as of yet from HTS. I haven't seen this version in person yet. It appears to look awesome and the box seems to be quite large.
  5. Here's the description as listed under the SDCC Metroplex on the hasbrotoystore site: Includes 12 non-converting miniature Transformers figures. Includes Metroplex figure, Scamper figure, 2 blasters, 2 projectiles and 12 non-converting miniature figures. Therefore I would conclude that the photo used was just a stock photo, but the actual item, based on the price is the actual SDCC version. For my sake, I hope you're incorrect. I managed to grab one yesterday.
  6. JRX does look nicer, but nothing beats the merging of "4" super train robots. There are actually four of these guys which form together to make a larger, more complex robot.
  7. I concur, Smokescreen was my first favorite of the initial Alternator releases. Too bad I don't have the room to display them now. I have amassed too many items in my display, so somethings had to get placed back in the closet. Perhaps one day the Alternators will find their way back on display.
  8. They came (Acid Storm and Sound Wave) and went this morning here in San Diego. One store received 16, the other 12. I didn't even know that they would hit the stores so soon. Oh Well, there should be more coming in the near future.
  9. I just walked into the Toys R Us in National City, here in California (San Diego), and I asked if they had Thundercracker. The cashier looked it up in the computer and it said that they had four of them on-hand, but the were not on the shelf. She called to the back and the stock guy found "One" and I mean the only "One" case remaining in Southern California. The manager didn't even know they were there. Needless to say, the stock guy brought me the whole case. I didn't have any plans on buying all four of them, but the manager said that I could only have one of them anyway. He personally sells them one per customer. I said "Great", and then he sold me two of them. So I got one for me and a friend. As of 6:30pm, PST, there were two remaining in the store. So if you are local here in San Diego, you better go and get yours.
  10. YEAH!!!! Found Windcharger, Battle Ravage, Swindle and Grimlok here in San Diego @ Target last night. They had 4 swindles left. I bought all four of them.
