  1. Hey there, still trekking through the "wilds" (re: malls) of Malaysia on my honeymoon.

    So far have nabbed:

+ Alternators Ravage - for only AU$35! Alternators tend to cost $55-45 back home.

+ Reissue Galvatron - when this reissue came out, I opted to get the e-Hobby Galvatron II as I'm a greater fan of the comic Galvatron over the cartoon. But yesterday I saw some collectible stores where one was selling the purple repainted reissue for AU$85 - which is effectively the same as the original RRP for this toy. At that price, and considering that I won't be paying for postage as I'll just be carrying this toy home with me in my luggage - I was quick to nab it.

+ Okay, these aren't Transformers but they're not "knock offs" either because they're not based on any TF moulds. Like KOs, they are however unlicensed toys produced with the same quality as TF KOs. I'm sure we've all seen these kinds of toys - I'll just refer to them as "unlicensed TFs." I found 2 unlicensed TFs - one is called Busbot and is a robot with a gold chrome (interesting how these cheap unlicensed toy manufacturers will still use chrome yet Hasbro is reluctant with movie Optimus Prime) Gundam-esque head and a clear Gundam Beam Sabre KO and a yellow sword. It transforms into a coach (as in the bus, not as in your Phys Ed teacher). The other transforms into an American style school bus (those yellow ones with the black stripes) and has a really crummy transformation, but actually contains die-cast metal parts!

I also saw MP Megatron on sale here. My MP Megatron should have arrived back home yesterday at a friend's house. I still need to confirm with my mate that our MP Megs arrived safe and sound, but just in case they haven't, it's now nice to know I have the option of directly buying the toy and bringing it back with me.

    I'll post pics up later.

  2. I'm currently in an Islamic country atm on my honeymoon. I'm surrounded by terrorists!!! :P (j/k) :P

    Joke:

Q: What do you call a Jewish bridge?

    A: Passover

    *rimshot*

I need to hit the Chinese section and see if there are any Malaysian Transfans I can bump into while I'm here. I originally joined this board when I was in Hong Kong in an attempt to meet up with Remy. ;P

  3. I don't understand why Ultra Magnus would just stand there and let Megatron kick him, unless:

    1) That skit was a tribute to "The Death Of Ultra Magnus" where he just fought like a complete retard and consistently allowed Sixshot to have free shots at him, or;

    2) He's gone and learnt Sport Taekwondo under the delusion that it can be used in a real fight (a notion which was parodied in my "Tae Kwon Leap" photocomic in the last page). :P

  4. Next time I do a photocomic I'm gonna try to keep each frame within the 400x300 range so it doesn't need to be reduced. Sorry... just don't really think about it at the time I make them. :P

  5. lol. I love how your hand is so obviously visible... :P

I used a few tricks on MS Paint to create flying effects when I did my MTMTE photocomic...

Here I'm gripping Skywarp by the very edge of the toy and I later cropped the edge of the photo so you can't see my hand. Thundercracker is on top of an up-turned bucket, but I tried to crop out as much of the bucket as possible.

"Bumblebee" was being suspended here by a piece of string! The string is hidden by the MS Paint drawn explosion. :P

    mtmte_en10.jpg

The jets here were on boxes which I covered by copying and pasting the surrounding wall and desk.

    mtmte_en11.jpg

"Laserbeak's" flight effect was created by simply sticking him to the wall! And Soundwave was held by my hand which is covered by that cheesy blue MS Paint drawn flame. :P

  6. Great photography there, Golgo!

It also confirms what I was saying a while back about the Soundwave reissue actually being a repaint of the Soundblaster mould, and not the Soundwave mould, but everyone told me that I was full of poo and I ended up retracting my statement - but you see! I was right! I'M NOT CRAZY!! AAAAAARGH! LET ME GO, I'M SANE! WONKO THE SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!!!!!

  7. What's with the snow?? I dunno about you Kiwi, but it's stinking hot here on the Australian east coast. We're battling bushfires across all eastern states and territories and I know I jumped straight into the pool as soon as I got home from work and currently I've got a fan sitting next to an open window trying to blow air in from outside... earlier this afternoon the outside air was all really hot, but now since the sun's set the weather's cooled down... but still... I'm sitting in front of my computer in t-shirt and shorts... last thing I'm thinking about atm would be snow.

  8. Deathmarch: the song is a Romanian song called "Dragostea din tei" sung by boy-band "O-ZONE" (they've since split up).

Click here to view the lyrics with English translation. In the video you might notice one scene where the Classic Autobots are pointing at a map of Eastern Europe illustrating the movement of the Allies during WWI - they're point at Romania (labelled "Rumania" on this map) and Romania itself is circled in red. ;)
