  1. Although not "technically" a transformer... it kind of resembles one - :P

Just finished blacking out the head lights, fog lights, turn signals, tail lights, reverse lights, and side markers:

  2. I have seen some mixed reviews of this one... and really bad reviews for the Weaponizer Bumblebee - but I haven't bought that one yet.

In my opinion, it's not bad at all. Yes, he has a backpack (gatling gun storage) and he has some pretty plain paint apps out of the box, but it transforms pretty well and is fairly poseable.

I like him, and after paint apps it was worth the $29 in my opinion. :)

  3. Wish I could take full credit for him...

I originally got him from the TFans.com "End Cap" thread several years ago - might have been from SureShot?

The base figure was already done, but the "brute mode" pieces were never finished - until this past weekend. When I get home from work I will take a few more pics for the board. :)

  4. Some new pics!

  5. Thanks, guys. :)

The head bothers me a little as well. It's a small head already, and when you beef up the body with extra parts then it looks even smaller. :(

I was holding out with the Prime kit, and then I saw them on sale at K Mart this week for $22 so I bought two of them and used the extra parts from the second kit. I made some minor changes since this pic, but this is still how it looks.

It seems like "doubling up" on the kits works better than just one... I did the same to Bumblebee awhile ago:

  6. I think that it also comes in the traditional Iron Man colors as well.

Overall, the Captain America mech suit is pretty nice... it fits a standard figure inside, and the articulation is average - neck swivels, shoulders, elbows, and wrists all turn. The legs move at the hips, and the ankles pivot, but the fact that it's a mech suit limits the legs a bit. For example, there are no knees.

It comes with tons of interchangeable missile pods and guns, but it was also a bit light on the paint details. I had to paint the eyes and the gatling gun muzzle red, and the belt buckle and hand repulsers yellow. They are minor details, but it helps. I also added the "shield" on his back from the Captain America Transformer Crossover, and I used the Iron Patriot figure instead of the standard Captain America that it came with.

Here is a few more shots after the paint apps:
