  1. FRANK & Sons Collectible show - Burple TFA Shockwave with Bumblebee.

    LOTS of TF Mighty Muggs!

    no Waspinator :argh

so it looks like this stuff is trickling out...

I wonder though - this is much different than the distribution of previous years... usually its just drought until the end of march.

  2. PASADENA TARGET

2x Wrek Gar (minus one which is MINE MINE MINE)

    A-bazillion X Nukular Lugnut

    All current Classics...

All current TFA - up through Blurr

TFA - Brown-out Magnus, Blacface Megatron

  3. Walmarts have at least been consistently stocked - but yeah Targets have just been empty of TFs for weeks!

TRU near me just restocked TFA and again - GALVETRON! :argh

What really gets me about all this is that I have a brief glimmer of - Oh well I guess I'll finally get Galvatron since I'm already here and all...

But danmit! I am not going to fall for that one!

  4. Frack!

What is wrong with So Cal? Seriously my target FINALLY restocked universe deluxes (empty since the week before Xmas) and they restocked the shelves full of GALVETRON and GREENIE JET!

    :argh :nooo

  5. Pasadena - Comic Shop

    1x Universe Inferno

    1x Universe Vector Last Autobot

Both are super ugly and marked up 2x retail. Actually - I saw Inferno and I thought - Cool!

Then I flipped the box around and was reminded exactly how much FAIL the bot mode was.

    $40 $20 saved!

  6. With all those stores, you're bound to find new figures before anyone else right?

LOL - no. I've noticed that if I'm dilligent on the hunt I can find figures about 2 weeks after the first sightings (usually back east). But The Walmarts around here have a pretty good stocking habits. The Targets aren't bad either, though usually another 2 weeks after Walmarts. And TRUs are just amateurish no matter where you go.

I would like to meet you guys. Me and combust lives near National City, TB-1599 in Santee and Hunter Rose in LA. I don't know how you feel about us living so close together and you so far.

    Where is National City?

We should start up a thread over in the Conventions Forum

  7. Hunter Rose: I went to school up there back in 1998. I never knew you were in LA. I guess I didn't look at your profile. What stores are around your area?

I live near downtown/Little Tokyo - where the 101/110/5/10 all meet and I work in Pasadena.

I go to Target most commonly. But there are at least 3 TRUs reasonably close and 3 walmarts not too far away (under 15 miles away).

I guess there are also a few KBs and the usual smattering of Comic & collectible stores.

At one time there was a small group of So.Cal TFans who met up once in a while - but it's been a while....

Anyone want to try to organize again?

  8. North Hollywood Target at Victory and Vanowen has 1 Animated Ultra Magnus after I took the other one.

And some adorable G.I. Joe Combat Heroes, if anyone's looking for them.

Post your thoughts on him. Whats up with the buttflap?

  9. According to TFMaster's guide, yes, you are supposed to keep heating it regularly as well a stirring constantly to make sure the plastic doesn't settle on the bottom. Here's is what the article said about heating:

Now,with heating your batch make sure you have it set to well under boil for 5-10 min as needed. When you start your batch leave it running after you add your parts in to take the color but keep stirring constantly. You let the parts settle to the bottom or have the heat too high,it will warp the plastic. After stirring for about five min, check your parts. Are they taking the dye?Good,we should be on the right track and the parts stating to darken about now.Turn it off (ok Heat off) and continue to stirr and checking randomly untill the parts are the depth of color you want it to be.If the batch starts to boil (Boil? wtf? with the heat off?) ,turn it off and let it settle for a min.Keep stirring your parts though.Again, warpage is bad.

Don't turn off the heat until it starts taking the dye. Also, did you add a little acetone? That is supposed to help the plastic take the dye better.

I did this for an hour - but here (see bold) is where it confused me completely....

    And no... no acetone....

  10. :argh

I've been soaking my TFA Jazz pieces in a dark red dye bath for 2 hours and don't see any real progress!!

Anyone know how long this should go? should i just leave it over night?

I am also unsure on the temp... i turned the heat off.. but should i be reheating it regularly?

  11. I meant i felt as if I was being ignored. Cause everyone is so quick to answer questions but... this will be post #3 of the same question with no response.....

    Dying -

Is this the proper thread to ask about dying plastics, and of course Transformers specifically?

I want to dye a TFA Jazz RED! - but just the car parts.

Dying would create the same matte kind of look that the TFA figs have in general right?

I think i read somewhere that plain RIT clothing dye works well - any suggestions here?

Is there another thread about it?

cross posted in the painting thread....

  13. Okay...

after a six-month hiatus (due to lack of internet capability), I'M BACK!!! And now....with my OWN COMPUTER!!!

    :clap :mehappy

Also, in the next couple of months, I will be obtaining a digicam. I already have a scanner/printer/coffeemaker/combaticon, so I can now put more of my stuff online. (yes, I know all about the submission rules to TFans now...)

    :argh :nooo

  14. i dont mean to be rude or anything - but it just seems that (especially during the drought) that we would want to be a little more considerate of our fellow fans (and more importantly the kids).

So like - if there were 10 of them and you bought 3 then yay you - but if you bought ALL three that were available then you basically f**cked every other Transfan in your area.

In three months - these will be in the clearance bin. so you could stock up on them (cheaply i might add) and you know pave your driveway with them or something. but for now - is it too much to ask for people to share the love a little?
