  1. It's a new One-Step figure and you know the drill. These are simplified figures that are meant more as fiddle toys than full "Bells and whistles" Transformers. In the Cyberverse line these One-Steps have the bonus of a little action feature. In Ratchet's case two blades can spring-loaded, flip out of Ratchets arms. For most of you, you've made your decision on One-Step figures already but for the rest, give Ratchet a chance.
  2. When a new Seeker mold is introduced one can expect the usual repaints like Skywarp and Thundercracker. The "Coneheads" aren't always a given, so it was nice to see that Amazon was going to get an exclusive set of Ramjet and Dirge. Featuring new wings, chest details, kneecaps and of course heads; Ramjet and Dirge are a great addition to your Seeker ranks.
  3. I have to say I'm impressed. Usually, when I review Micromasters there's one set I just don't enjoy, but in this case, both the Astro Squad and Race Track Patrol are really, really fun. The combined form of the Astro Squad makes for a cool looking NASA approved shuttle while the Race Track Patrol has the best-combined weapon of any car based Micromaster team yet. Both sets get a high recommendation from me.
  4. Technically speaking Slitherfang is a good Transformer, I just don't get the bridge system. Transformation is simple and results in a solid plank. If this is your thing then enjoy, I'll be over here waiting for the Cobra logo repaint.
  5. So, funny story. I had recorded this video a while ago. When I found out the "News Cycle" had past on it I decided to hold it back for one of those days when I didn't have anything else to go up. Well, I meant for it to go up in March, right after the "Pause" started. Well around the same time my old laptop died and I felt this video was lost. Thankfully I was able to get a new laptop and have my data transferred over so here we are. I'm sure most of you who were interested in this figure already have it so just enjoy the video.
  6. Battle Call Trooper Bumblebee is an ok Ultra Class sized figure. There's really nothing new here as we've seen Bumblebee in every size class this line has to offer. The Battle Call gimmick is fun, but I feel it's lacking without an Officer Class figure to interact with it. While it might not be for everyone, I strongly recommend not paying the $45+ these figures are going for on eBay.
  7. I only use DHL for receiving products from Amazon Japan. The only problem I've had is that they won't ship super minipla or other kits with candy to the US
  8. Unfortunately if they go under we'll be left with more expensive options that might deter peer to peer sales.
  9. Arcee is the latest addition to the Cyberverse Deluxe sub-line, Generations style articulated versions of characters from the Cyberverse cartoon. While mostly a shellformer, Arcee compacts nicely into a stylized car mode. I'm very happy with the figure as the joints are nice and tight and support the weight of the backpack well. If you want to complete Maccadam you'll need to buy Arcee anyway, but you're getting a solid figure too.
  10. Hard to believe but we finally have a good Warrior Class Optimus Prime. Transformation is smooth with some nice touches here and there and a gimmick that doesn't interfere with the overall robot mode. Is it simplified, yes; but the end result is a solid deluxe class Optimus Prime figure.
  11. Doubledealer is an interesting figure. An update to a late G1 Powermaster, Doubledealer features three different modes, a bi-pedal robot that is an Autobot, and a Falcon/Vulture/Bird that is allied with the Decepticons. The unifying third mode is a missile truck that is Doubledealers alt-mode. Parts of the transformation is very fiddly and needlessly difficult, but over time becomes almost intuitive. I feel that duality to the transformation fits a character like Doubledealer.
  12. They're TWINS! The Decepticon clones are one of those, or two of those, rare almost forgotten teams from the later part of G1. Originally released under the Titans Return banner, this set is a US release of the Japanese decos. They're simple figures that can be fiddly at times, but really don't move the needle one way or the other. If you had them as a kid like I did You'll probably be moved to pick them up.
  13. Who doesn't love a surprise? Well to be honest I don't, I really don't, I get violent. Anyway, even though Exhaust had been rumored for awhile it wasn't until late last week that we got any in-hand imagery. It's a cool figure that's a completely legal update on that classic Diaclone deco. If you have problems with Wheeljack, you're probably not going to enjoy Exhaust; but if you really dig the Wheeljack mold Exhaust might just be up your alley.
  14. Thunderhowl is a really cool figure. Articulation is good, better than most Ultra Class figures and the transformation is surprisingly involved for a kid friendly figure. I really like the play between the sword, wolf head, and tail. Definitely recommended if you are looking for something different.
  15. Thundercracker and Skywarp complete the classic Seeker trio for the Earthrise line. Both Thundercracker and Skywarp feature new faces that are different from Starscream. I'm pleased that the duo came early in the line and will be relatively easy to get. Highly recommended.
  16. Ramjet and Dead End are fun little Scout Class figures from the Cyberverse line that most people are going to pass over because they're not proper Transformers. It's a shame most collectors ignore the Scout Class because the toys are nice little figurines that often are the only representation of certain characters in the line. As always I recommend them, but most of you are just going to ignore my words.
  17. A box of cassettes/data tablets/engines is a good value but really doesn't fill the need that collectors have right now. Frenzy and Wingthing are repaints of Rumble and Ratbat, late wave Siege releases that have been very hard for collectors to find. Knok and Skar are also repaints of the aforementioned Siege figures, but they feature new heads to resemble the Powermasters that came with Doubledealer. If you like the molds then I would recommend this set especially if you're going to pick up the forthcoming Doubledealer figure.
  18. For a One-Step changer Whirl is a little more involved than the norm which makes for a fun figure. Transformation is smooth and the resulting robot mode is very close to the animation model. Overall, I recommend giving Whirl a whirl!
  19. There are some figures that rise above their gimmicks, then there are others that are all about the gimmick. Optimus Prime and Shockwave are definitely all about the gimmick. Articulation is virtually non existent since all moving parts are for the transformation. The armor looks cool and the weapons are nice but ultimately these are two Ultimate Class figures you can probably skip.
  20. Now this listing says they're available at most major retailers so that's good. Now for Amazon US to get listings up.
  21. Kinda weird then that Amazon has info on them. Really stinks these are Walmart exclusives, the shows over so interest is going to be low to begin with.
