  1. I always found it amusing that the only figure to represent Starscream being up Megatron's ass never had a full retail release.

Was this G2 Darkwing, or the Beast Wars II Starscream & BB release?

It was a repaint of G2 Darkwing and Smokescreen as a new form for G2 Megatron and Starscream, later repainted in BWII Starscream and BB, and even later repainted into Gigant Bomb and Smokejumper (Smokesniper, heard it both ways)

I know the history of the figure. ;) Forgot the RiD versions Dreadwind & Smokejumper, though.

I was just curious if this custom was done with the G2 set, or the BWII set as I've heard the BWII set is near identical to the cancelled Megatron & Starscream release, with an exception of the Predacon symbols.

Derp. It is the BWII one. Just remembered the G2 guys were blue / blue camo. :redface

  2. I seem to recall somewhere reporting Aaron Archer hated the Robot Masters line, when someone asked him about possibility of domestic release (which would majorly affect release, as he was the head of US Transformers team at the time.)

Hasbro did plan on releasing WST Soundwave as an accessory to a redeco Energon Megatron (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_%28Armada%29/toys#Energon ), but the entire product was cancelled.

  3. Think its about time to kill Bumblebee,

I dont see why they dont ship the figs in altmode which would make the packaging smaller, saving money in materials. Then again I dont think they would pass the saving on to the consumer.

They did that for years. Hasbro opted to start shipping them in robot mode when they were seeing a better reaction to the figures in bot mode, than when in the alternate modes.

  4. Also Nightbeat needs love, when was the last time he's had an original mold?

    Never. ;) He's always been a redeco.

If Megatron could ever get the Dark Energon figured out, I'd love to see them bring in Terrorcons based off the G1 and Energon terrorcons, instead of just zombies.

  5. i'll wait until these pop up into Tuesday Mornings....even though TRU claims to have the exclusive on theses toys.

Wal-Marts here carried them for a spell, too.

However, I don't think these are actually slated for US release as the Tomica line is handled by Tomy, not Hasbro. (Though, I still think Hasbro's "Speed Stars" was testing the waters for Tomy to release Tomica domestically, so I could be wrong. :shrug )

I'm more curious about the other cars in the line. Have they been shown off?

  6. Taaron: A friend showed me these at a local hobby shop in my neck of the woods. I already like legos and robots, so I fell in love with the line when that friend let me try his sets out. Plus this weekend he's gonna sell me a pile of parts that can fill a TF:P Voyager box for a song! I can't wait to get cranking on making my own robots!

Nice! They're fun little kits. I think I tried cleaning out BBTS when they had them on a clearance sale. :tflaugh (just a warning, though. some sockets don't like to keep ahold of the balljoints. I built a little mini-custom, and it's limbs kept popping out of the sockets. XD )

  7. I would email Hasbro to find out what type of screws he takes

I'm sure he requires a dinner and maybe some wine first. a romantic movie might help, too. :tflaugh

Serious answer, take Shockwave to a hardware store like lowes or home depot.

I was switching some chrome plastic knobs on an organizer with some nice metal ones. Only problem was the screws that came with the metal knobs were too long, and the plastic knobs' threading was too thick. (good lord, if that isn't an opening for a "That's what she said" or two, I don't know what is.) Ended up taking the long ones down to Lowe's in search of bolts or replacement screws. They had a board where you could plug your screws in and figure out the size threading you need.

  8. show the Dinobots being caught and what they were before Shockwave got to them...

I like the idea of this as being a DLC add-on. That's something I hope High Moon will do, and slip out some extended / additional missions via DLC.

  9. Hum. I was tempted to get a set of these in regular deco for kitbashing purposes, but the price put me off them (especially since I wanted to do up an entire team. :tflaugh )

Price is still a bit off-putting, but props to BTS for trying something different with the material.

(Since I'm in a bit of an Fall of Cybertron Audio Log collecting trip, if a 3rd Party wanted to do up a cassette Minion deco'd up as an FOC Audio Log, I might buy it.)

Edit: Remind me next time when I can't sleep not to look at toys with questioning interest. Preordered this set and ordered the Yin & Yang deco(So G2!) set. The lounging pic sold me. :redface

  10. If it's PS3, you go to the PSN store and redeem the code. (at least, that's how it worked when I redeemed a preorder code for a game on the Sony Vita. Can't imagine it being any different on the PS3)
