  1. I've read that Masterminds Creations has their own comic writer, and that this homage of Predaking will have an "optional" 6th member (a sabertooth tiger). I have seen the comic writer and MMC's comic art. I gotta say, the art is fantastic so far. I'm really thinking about taking the plunge on this one.
  2. Office? Have you google maps their address? They run the club out of a suburban house in Texas. Office... lulz.
  3. ^^^ seriously, WOW! Bravo indeed. Scalpers should publicly shamed and mocked for the remainder of all times. Scalpers are warts on the ass of this fandom.
  4. I could be overstating it, but screw it: If there was any question that the "enthusiast" transformers collector community is a viable target audience, Hasbro should consider this as a wake up call.
  5. I'm sure there's a use for this in someone's collection. I don't need it personally. 100 dollar repaints in general just don't cut it considering whats planned right around the corner. FansProject and MakeToys combiners to be specific. Besides, chrome grillz are so three years ago. Just ask the Ying Yang twins, Lil Jon, or even Ryan Lochte.
  6. They're nice - new character specific heads, new chest, new color schemes that homage the G1 toy. Depends on price and availability. If the lens is shorter it'll sell more. I could be wrong about the heads
  7. Either that guy has huge hands or that looks like a deluxe sized masterpiece. Puny even.
  8. 50 dollar repaints in this economy. Bad track record with security breaches... plural. Snide attitude towards some customers. Operates out of a suburban house. I'm done with Botcon, worthless membership "perks", shoddy websites/online store/membership hub, and Fun Publications Inc. in general. Thanks, I guess.
  9. You know, a top of the line dremmel will only run you fifty bucks. You can customize your own heads/faces with light piping from the existing mold(s). Hell, some can do it with a couple of exacto blades and folded fine grade sand paper. But, to each their own.
  10. I think the nay-sayers have moved on to greener pastures. It's more fun to enjoy something you like than to settle for things that don't seem worthwhile - complaining along the way. An enthusiasts life is too short to linger on the small things.
  11. The box art is pure win. Amazing new head sculpt. Display caliber inner tray. Just a joy that I was able to save up for this. Computron is just around the corner, and I cannot wait to see what these master toy makers have in store for their fans. T.F. Con is going to be so exciting (Fansprojects Menasor teaser and Fansproject Core website plans/exclusives will be of epic importance). Great time to be an enthusiast; really is the golden age.
  12. As in "Thank you for not waiting for the inevitable cheaper stateside release"...
  13. Of course without specifics, fans of the toys and comics that FansProject has released thus far are left to speculate costs and specifics about change that is bound to come from current e-tailers. Up until now, FansProject has been a toy manufacturer with direct ties to online retailers - set price at initial offering, set initial product run, and a sprinkling of outlet exclusives. Not to mention one successful charity drive that included a direct to customer (small parcel) exclusive figure. VIP membership is probably a way to raise funds for the foundation of the FansProjectCore website - security, server fees, maintenance, workforce pay, etc. Keep in mind that up until now, this has been a side "job" for these fans. They have other endeavors and a completely different (although perhaps related) career. Speculation: Until FansProjectCore is able to design and maintain a secure online store (perhaps utilizing paypal), the current model of product sale will remain unchanged. BBTS/CapturedPrey/TFsource/et al. will be able to negotiate and secure orders of non exclusive product (allowing collectors to utilize previous and or future store credit with said retailer). Yet, I would speculate the best deal will come from a FansProjectCore store where purchases will grant the user some form of currency within the frame of the ongoing story - in the form of Crystals (digression). I think the most important gimmick will be user generated content. There's a lot to play with here for the amateur science fiction world creator. Causality, Warbots, Parallax, StormCrow, the factions, Protector/Scythe, Project Berserker (Flameblast bio), and a slew of other nods to early FansProject releases to tie together into a cohesive epic. The risk is the how invested their audience is in participation. Given the age bracket of their clientele, I would guesstimate participation would be limited to an every other weekend affair - which would be fitting considering the rate of release of product. In terms of community, I think that coverage of other "3rd party" items will keep the website quite active. From big chip manufacturers like TFC and Master Mind Creations - to small one man start ups like Renderform and Dr Wu, this will be the place for the hobbyists to share, compete, and inspire. Botcon was not only a convention, but a statement. FansProjectCore and my participation with them is my personal non verbal response. In any case, I hope to make new acquaintances on the new site and at T.F.con in Toronto, where I'm sure there will be advertisements/flyers for FPC. I understand this is really a huge gamble on the part of FansProject - hence respect the intentions and goal of the Project of the Fans to make this truly by the fans for the fans forever. Hope to see a few of you around.
  14. Thanks Lord Onslaught. I was wrong to not post the specifics. As you can see, I am really excited about this new direction FansProject and it's fan interface FansProjectCore have taken. I understand that this sentiment will not be shared by everyone in the Transformers fandom, and I apologize for my lack of OP clarity.
  15. FansProjectCore (click me): Merging competitive team strategy rich science fiction storytelling master craftsmanship and engineering well conceived elements of design and placement fandom based news and community driven character development
