  1. Coming up on four years since the last show in 2016, we've begun to see some signs of activity coming from Botcon once again over the last couple of days! The botcon.com website was brought back, at first appearing as it had just after Botcon 2016, but then changing to a message declaring that it was now under "renovations". 2. Good hunting! Keep me in mind if you find any extras! ;)
  3. This might be relevant to you: Earthrise leaders were bought yesterday at a Target in San Jose. Westgate, by the receipt, though I imagine that particular location is now out of stock...
  4. After this report made the rounds earlier, someone else said that they had found the Deluxes at Target somewhere in Seattle a couple hours before Vicegrip shared his Tacoma sighting. I don't know how distribution tends to go in your area, but hopefully these will spread out reasonably quickly. I would just like them to also move east as much as south from where they are right now.
  5. The only time I ever desire to live on the west coast is when new toys are coming in. Damn geography. Oh anyway, if I understood his followup tweets correctly, he actually found the entire first wave, not just Wheeljack and Ironworks. That photo shows what's left after he bought his own set of four.
  6. Most of us are still looking for Micromasters, but it seems that our shopping lists have just gotten a bit bigger! Leader class Earthrise figures have been found in the US, with a reship of Astrotrain in Earthrise packaging, and the much-anticipated Optimus Prime - who we can continue to confirm is shipping with blue hands, by the way! 7. It's felt like we were overdue to hear some credible talk about a next Transformers movie after the Bumblebee movie came and went last winter. Today, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety have both reported on the first developments toward that end. Paramount and Hasbro have brought in James Vanderbilt and Joby Harold to write scripts for future Transformers movies. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  8. This weekend looks like a great time to catch up on some toys you may have passed on the first time around. Amazon's US website has a ton of great discounts happening right now for a variety of Transformers products across all the major lines: Siege, Studio Series, Cyberverse, and even a bit of BotBots! As always a couple caveats apply: These prices are correct as of the time of compiling them, but the can and will vary with time and changes in inventory levels, and we can't guarantee how long any of these deals will be available for. 9. Thanks to TriBlurr we've just heard about a new preorder listing coming from EB Games. It describes a Generations Selects Micromaster Spy Patrol set, priced as a Deluxe. That sure sounds like a recipe for a four pack of cassettes, doesn't it? Our hope would be that this is a set to fill in some of the "missing" characters that didn't make it to normal retail in Siege, which gives us at least a couple of obvious candidates for who would be in this pack: Buzzsaw, and Frenzy (the blue one). 10. With just two days left before the original shipping date, Hasbro Pulse has moved the goal posts on fans expecting the first wave of Generations Selects Seacons. Originally scheduled for release on Saturday, January 25th, Turtler and Gulf are now showing a date of March 23rd before they'll be available to customers in the US and Canada. 11. Artist Ken Christiansen has posted to his Facebook page sharing samples of his concept artwork for Spinister from Transformers Siege. While this is described as concept art, it seems extremely close to the final form of the toy, with perhaps exception of some cosmetic changes to the legs, so this is probably a little further along the development path than what we might normally think of as "concept art". 12. The newly introduced Deluxe Class Cyberverse assortment is designed to give a more "collector series" option for the current main line offering, but so far we're still early enough in its life cycle that distribution and online availability have been moving slowly. But for those in the US, Amazon is now coming to the rescue! Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  13. Expected by probably just about everyone, this evening we got our first reported brick and mortar sighting of Transformers Earthrise, long before the online on-sale date comes to pass. Found at the Cascade Station Target location in Portland, Oregon were the Earthrise Micromasters assortment including the Hot Rod Patrol and the Military Patrol. 14. Thanks to NothingHead we have word of what might be the first sighting of the newest Studio Series Leader Class wave in the US! One each of Scavenger and Shockwave were found at a Walmart in Apopka, Florida Saturday evening. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  15. The Twitter account for Transformers Collectors Club Australia has tweeted out a number of photos of Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime taken by their member Nathan. Optimus's robot mode looks great in these new photos - and yes, it has blue hands still - but the extra special treat is our first look at some of the extra artwork for the Earthrise packaging. 16. A new find on the website for retailer Family Dollar has revealed to us a few new Transformers Authentics figures that'll be joining the lineup in the near future. Alpha and Bravo Series are covered, as is the Titan Changers category. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  17. Earlier today we reported on new official photos of Earthrise Starscream from TakaraTomy. Following on from that, we've got some new updates from TakaraTomy on their releases of Earthrise Cliffjumper and the Micromaster Military Patrol. Due to be released in June along with Starscream, it turns out both of these releases will be ER-EX exclusives on TakaraTomy Mall. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  18. PrimeVsPrime on Youtube has gotten an early copy of Gulf, from the first wave of TakaraTomy's Generations Selects Seacons in hand and posted a video review. The figure, based on the engineering of Blot from Power of The Primes features lots of new parts, and based on what we're hearing out of this review, seems to have turned out pretty well! 19. The Hasbro Pulse blog has been updated with a new update for the HasLab Unicron project. The biggest, most expensive Transformer to date is being prepared for the process of creating the mold elements needed to begin mass production. This is described in a refreshing degree of detail, explaining the hows and whys of what has to be done at this stage. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  20. By way of In Demand Toys on Facebook, we have a series of Hasbro's official transformation videos for the first wave of Earthrise. These videos cover the Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leader Optimus Prime. We've seen the Deluxes and Optimus transformed in varying levels of detail thanks to early video reviews previously, but these official shorts mark the first look we've had at the transformation processes for the Voyagers Grapple and Starscream. 21. Bluefin Brands is having a special promotion in their online store right now. A set of all three Furai Model Seekers, Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp for $75 - a savings of about $40 compared to buying the kits individually. It might not be the best news if you've grabbed one or two of them already, but if you've been on the fence about jumping in on this line, your moment may have come. 22. One Mr. Chaos, who has been a reliable source of early info before, has relayed some new Earthrise product rumors from an unspecified inventory database. While previous reveals have proved accurate, like Leader Astrotrain, Studio Series Bonecrusher, and Transformers (2007)-style Voyager Optimus, just to name a few, we're sticking with classifying this still as rumors until we can get some additional verification. 23. ACDDistribution has some Studio Series info among their product listings, pointing us to a few upcoming movie toys, including one that many have been anticipating any sign of! First up we have some already known or revealed figures, including Voyager Sentinel Prime who had appeared in previous early info lists. Click Image to Read the Full News Story Now
  24. Wholesaler ACDDistribution has got some product pages up giving us some new info about what's coming up in Earthrise. Leading off we have verification for some of what we saw recently from Walmart's listings, with Voyagers Snapdragon, and Quintesson, plus the Micromaster Astro Squad and Race Track Patrol sets. 25. This time around as we look back over the past year, we thought we'd take a little bit different approach to our Staff Picks and go for something a little more fun than the standard, structured best/worst list style. So for my picks of 2019, I decided to reflect on the things that really made an impact on me during the year, which I then worked backwards from to categorize so this still looks like some kind of ordered list.
