  1. Danielgogeta is mixing up the G1 and Titans Return Overlord toys. The G1 toy didn't use the rifle as the tank's barrel - or rather, didn't use the tank's barrel as a rifle - either. It's only the Titans Return/Legends toy that uses the tank's barrel as the robot mode rifle (while the proper rifle is completely absent), due to accessory limits.
  2. Something to share with you all that I've been working on on-and-off for most of the year now. I liked Titans Return PMOP plenty as-is, very solid and fun figure. But there's room for improvement and I have the itch to tweak things. And so I've been customizing mine. There are two main things I've been doing: Repainting the trailer (which is pretty much done), and turning the cab into a poor man's PC-16 (which isn't, but it's getting closer). Trailer progress: Cab progress: Future goals include: * Rifles replicating the ones on LG-35 Super Ginrai or otherwise being Titans Return-style versions of the 1988 toy's rifles * A new chest shield with a possibly-detachable faux-engine that can hold Prime Masters * Godbomber compatibility because I'm crazy like that.
  3. Figured out where the button goes, still stuck on the LEDs
  4. Answered the question about the arm mounts, but still need to know about the cockpit section
  5. Not bad. What did you do for the cockpit?
  6. Recently acquired a damaged, headless, and partly-disassembled Hunt for the Decepticons Leader-class Starscream. The breaks will be straightforward to fix. The head... It's either obtain a replacement or make one myself, no uncertainty there. But reassembling him... That's where the uncertainty comes in. There's four LEDs and a little button sticking out from him and I'm not sure of the correct way they go into the cockpit section (and if any of them are meant to be in the head): I'm also not sure about the spots where his arm assemblies join the central body: So I would very much appreciate some photos of how it's supposed to go together.
  7. The plastic thing is just people being whining deluded kindergartners. Voyager and Leader figures have largely seen some definite shrinkage since HFTD but it's been within tolerable levels and Deluxes have been more or less stable.
  8. Aren't you going to paint his eyes yellow?
  9. As some of you know, Reflector is one of the less-accurate Transformers due to Spyglass and Spectro being drawn as basically "Viewfinder-minus-lens" (And Viewfinder in the show had a face, but so did Trailbreaker, Bumblebee, etc). Well, here's my crack at improving the cartoon accuracy of Spyglass. I started by making a custom plug-in chestplate, which does wonders for making him look more like the show. In altmode, it connects to his arms and keeps them in place.
  10. Let's start with what I have that I could round up for this photo: 2 G1 Optimus Prime missiles 1 G1 Ultra Magnus missile RiD (Robots in Disguise) Mega-Octane's rifle RiD Ruination's right and left grey fists RiD Ruination's left grey foot (This one is ONLY available for a specific trade: The mustard-gold equivalent -or a bootleg thereof- from Desert Camo ruination) Generations Darkmount's / Straxus' C-joint minigun WANTS: ROTF Leader-class Optimus Prime Left Foot ROTF Leader-class Optimus Prime left window assembly G1 Skywarp's main wings Bottom section of G1 Megatron's stock Desert Camo Ruination helmet (or bootleg of such) Desert Camo Ruination chestplate (or bootleg of such) Mega-Octane's chestplate (or bootleg of such) G1 Swoop missile Note: I'm not going to be too picky about condition. I'll take painted-on, scratched, bent, vomited-on, chewed-on, sun-discolored, etc. Even broken if the all the pieces or near enough are there to glue back together. And if there's bootlegs of the other parts I'll take them too.
  11. ^ Bingo. Use of soft plastic is mostly due to breakage issues. That's why it happens to a lot of swords and to clear-plastic wings. Bits like that are under a lot of stress; swords from being knocked against each other and clear-plastic wings from the fact that kids tend to throw flying toys (Rigid clear plastic is more brittle than opaque plastic - a lesson Hasbro learned the hard way with the Flutter Ponies' wings). So it makes sense to use soft plastic, which bends instead of breaking. The benefit is twofold: There are thus no nasty sharp edges or shards to injure someone, and also the kid is not going to end up heartbroken due to a busted toy. As for soft-plastic missiles, odds are there's another soft-plastic part that's the same colour and thus is on the same sprue.
  12. Something from my favourite series.
  13. In robot mode they're leaned up against the legs like in that picture of Stepper. Like that, they make him look like he's got proper feet.
  14. still messed up bro! cool but the feet aren't down on the one in the bottom right corner..i think They're supposed to be like that.
  15. Something of an older project: I simply spraypainted the dark blue parts purple, and painted the visor red. Voila.
  16. Yes. If you flip up the straps on the regular Super Mode backpack you can put the Sonic Wing one on top of it and still secure the chestplate.
  17. Nah, best ever is with the "wear-both-backpacks-at-once" trick and two lion arms. No screwdriver required.
  18. Er... It's best to take the parts off before you do that trick. Remove them, apply the glue, let it dry, then put them back on.
  19. How thick are we talking, exactly?
  20. Tried that, neither of the saws would cut the screw. It's one of those heavy-duty ones.
  21. My Voyager Cybertron Starscream. His undercarriage plate was stuck for some reason - it wouldn't come out even though it should have, and the part of it holding Starscream's legs broke off. No amount of gluing could get it to stay on. Mighty Putty failed here also. So I had to drive a screw through his aft. Now I'm having difficulty removing the excess length of the screw. The missile launcher's peg also broke off, and gluing pegs back on tends not to work too well. However, I was able to glue a small magnet to it, which does work, and it attaches to the screw located in the former peghole.
  22. Don't you just love these happy coincidences?
  23. Working on converting a Universe Prowl to Prowl's original altmode and robot-mode appearance. And making him look better in general. You can't really see it in the picture, but he has a straight lightbar now.
  24. Well, if you're comparing her to pictures of G1 Arcee they do. They're a reasonable match for the Animated cartoon.
