Another point that might be a reason that people aren't going in on this is the fact that this is Hasbro, the company that brought us Prime Airacnid, Armada Sideswipe, Prime Wars P/CP and countless other "bad" toys and toys misassembled leaving the factory. Imagine paying close to $630 (tax and shipping) only for Unicron having some defect and your only options are sending it back, or trying to fix it yourself.

I'd like to echo this and remind people of another glaring problem. This thing has not been through safety testing yet, so who knows what will be changed, or even if this thing can be actually delivered.

Need a example? Compare the prototype pictures of Siege Omega we were shown to the more recent production samples. The hips are completely different and to a lot of people look pretty bad.

Oh, and one more thing to consider. Everyone keeps talking about how heavy this figure is, could you imagine Metroplex-tier ratchets on a nearly 20 pound pound figure? I hope having functional fingers is not a major part of your day job.

  2. Yes that's right, Aldi's had Prime deluxe figures for $3.49 today. If you're wondering, Aldi's a low cost grocery chain primarily up North. My wife picked up Black Arachnia for me for $3.49 at one here in NJ!!!! Just a heads up.

    The helecopter one?

  3. Well given the nature of the storyline they will probably feature most if not all of the characters, but they will be one episode wonders, like 90% of the "new characters" from the other seasons. Ending with them either dieing or being captured.

I do think ripclaw and preds will be reoccurring characters though. Mostly because of Ripclaws involvement in Rage of the Dinobots.

  4. I'm not here to defend stuff like this mind you, but these are 'accessories' that are likely either hand crafted or had enormous start up cost. To sell them at $3 would be like Goodwill charity. I'm sure there are people out there who will champ at the bit for these items. If you feel it's too expensive, don't buy it. That's the beauty of choice.

Well I understand that, just it bugs me that bbts and tfsource will carry this stuff despite its price tag, but wont carry other things for the exact same reasoning. XD

  5. Humm... so the feet connect to the ski's using magnets I assume? Because I do not see the two little nubs providing enough support to hold the ski's on securely.

Basically here is how I see it working, there is a metal strip embedded in the skis "or is going to be embeded in the track between the two nubs on the ski" and a rare earth magnet in the foot. The nubs on the ski's keeps the foot in the proper position and the magnets attraction to the metal plate provides the force needed to secure the ski to the foot. Its actually rather ingenious.

The peghole on the back of the ski's are used for storage in copter mode, basically the foot can not fold up like the original chicken foot can, so to make up for this they added a small peg to the top of the foot and a peg hole to the back of the ski. When transforming the figure you simply pull off the ski and plug it onto the top of the foot.

As to why the ski's have a 5mm peg near the front, this is for storage on the "wings" in robot mode.
