  1. Pizza Burrito's!!! Delicious!!!

  2. K, I've been wanting to get started modeling out parts for 3D printing quite awhile now and have just started. There are a few guys here that know alot and have already shared what they are experiencing (thanks Wu and Hellscream). There are a few free programs out there to use. Google Sketchup is very simple to use but the free version has locked up some of the 'Solid Modeling' features like 'join/cut' and file export features as well. First question: How do you add a face in Sketchup to close off an end of an object?
  3. That's what I see most heads for articulated papercraft gundams do and it works well enough. If you give a slight lip to your socket to keep the ball from falling right back out if the figure falls over then that might meet the requirements of having a ball socket. What program are you using? I'm using Sketchup free, that lip idea would have been good, I already ordered my prototype, so we'll see how it goes You can chop up or merge objects/groups/components with the free version, you just have to "explode" them first. I think that the only difference between the free and the pro versions have to do with interactions with some architecture program and "corporate licensing". K, I'll have to look at "exploding" my parts. I worked on an armor set for ROTF/DOTM Optimus Prime last night and couldn't find how to stitch multiple pieces together. In blender I can join vertices but in Sketchup haven't been able to manipulate vertices yet. Sketchup is nice and simple. Blender is powerful but not quite as intuitive. Might have to start up a Shapeways Modeling thread. Oh, and the .dae export file is able to go back and forth between the two programs.
  4. Reminds me of Energon Optimus Prime done a little better.
  5. Bah. Won't be able to afford this one probably. These kick-ass 3rd party homages cost way too much. $500 for a toy no matter how awesome it is is too much.
  6. Guess I'll wait and see. This is NOT the same mold we saw at NYCC. Besides the paint apps the mold is entirely different. Aside from the figure, yes, not being a combiner version of Predaking sucks and it would be better if the name was Hun-Grr instead of Predaking. This figure is kinda Predaking, but not predaking enough. Not bad, but not Predaking. I do see some potential custom combiner-ness using this in combination with Thundertron and the rest of the new faction to make a Predaking combiner though.
  7. From a battlefield perspective G1 Omega is too limited to be a last line of defense. A rocket and a tank that is on an oval track? That's not a line of defense at all. Then taking the Energon version. A train and a battleship. Good update but still, for a highly advanced race of alien robots and their last line of defense is limited to a train track again? The battleship was good though. G1 Omega being the only sentient guardian robot would be an easy explenation as we saw from multiple examples that a spark can be imbued onto almost any mechanical object. Example, G1 Bruticus and the G1 Dinobots. Animated Omega was a great update to the concept and man it would have been cool to have a toy version. I still think a great update to this would be multiple military vehicles combining to become Omega would be sweet. One question is how far would you stray from the original yet still stay true to the character? Doing an update is it enough that the robot look like G1 and the alt pieces don't match?
  8. K, someone probably reviewed this before. I'm so glad I didn't cancel my order. This jetpack is huge. It looks way better in hand then pics.
  9. Supposed to be the next big bad and he doesn't even have hands?
  10. It exports most of the formats that Shapeways uses. http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/supported-applications I'll try to build one of those heads after taking my test next week.
  11. Have you tried them in Blender? It's free also.
  12. Amazon Jetwing Optimus Prime is InStock and shipping now. $104.99 http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Optimus-Prime-Jetwing-Movie/dp/B007MCPCZM/ref=pd_sim_t_1
  13. A domestic release of DOTM Leader Sized Prime and a DOTM Leader Sized Megatron would have sold well. Instead we only recieved a DOTM Leader Sentinal and Ironhide. Sentinel can't even stand on his own two feet and I really like the Ironhide, but no Megatron update? Not even going to mention the BB market saturation.
  14. Dayum lotto didn't hit, but good news about Amazon Jetwing Prime this morning.

  15. Have you seen the mass changes in Transformers Prime? There's no way a motorcycle decompresses to that much mass the way Arcee does. Granted it's not as bad as G1 Megatron shifting but there are definite mass changes in TF Prime.
  16. Suh-weet. Recieved an email this morning that my order is expected to arrive between Nov 9 and Dec 4. Changed the shipping to one day shipping and it should be at my house tomorrow, 30 Nov.
  17. Man this camera is sweet. Picked up a Pentax K-01 base for low price during the pre-thanksgiving sales.

  18. Are you using the free version of sketchup? Cool. I'll have to check out sketchup again. Maybe import a model into Blender for the curves and create them in sketchup. At work I downloaded chapters for a Blender book so it makes learning the interface easier. Sweet, that claw looks nice.
  19. Sitting at work waiting for a new camera to be delivered at home. Work sux.

  20. Wu, what are you using to model these out? I've started using blender but I'm concerned about getting the measurements right on my models. Like the 5mm attachment points etc.
  21. With all the complaints about the colors I didn't have very high expectations for this set but it's better then I thought. Vortex is the right leg on mine. Brawl just doesn't work as an arm. Will post pics as soon as I can. With Swindle and Blast-off as the arms it looks just right depending on the way they are configured. Price wise though, I bought them when TRU.com had buy one get one half off.
  22. ugh. time to start cooking for tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving All!!

  23. Checked today and there is a message about my pre-order stating that it will not arrive until after December 24, 2012.
