  1. Still have no idea how long I've been coming to TFormers.com. When was it first established?

  2. Painting panel lines is a freakin pain.

  3. Finally a ship notification for the Omega Supreme helmet and turret. I'll post pics as soon as it arrives.
  4. Same here. It took me a sec to realize that today is April Fools day. I wouldn't put it past Bay to go there though.
  5. lolz, I almost forgot that today is April 1st.

  6. Monday, I thought we left you in last week? What are you doing back again?

  7. Yes, but I'm not sure if I want to do the rocket from scratch, printed, or get a set from ebay. Depending on how the G1 rocket looks I may just order a rocket off of ebay. No train tracks on the back for this piece though. The tank treads rotate, flip, and then sit on his back. The head/turret is in "sent to the printer for production" status on Shapeways so hopefully it will arrive within the next two weeks and I can update the thread with another pic.
  8. Same here. Can't wait for Soundwave and his minions. MPs rock. I'm glad Shogo Hasui wants to design the entire G1 cast AND that he really wants to release Ultra Magnus. There's just something awesome about a robot that combines with armor to become a bigger robot. That rocks better then a robot that converts to a vehicle; which is pretty sweet in itself.
  9. Sweet, Thursday, Friday is just around the corner...

  10. lol, I've had the domain for like 8 years and it's been my test site for school. It's never had any purpose so no real content has been placed on there. Now there is a purpose I guess. Twitter was setup to use their SMS for research on a toy locator idea but never had the time to fully develop it. Oh man I scaled up the helmet to be slightly larger then the G1 Omega Supreme but I didn't realize how large it's going to be until after uploading it to Shapeways. From nose to the end of the turret is going to be approximately 5.5 inches. The turret unattached is just over 4 inches long. That plugin will come in handy. It took an hour or so to find all the hidden geometry that was removing or skewing surfaces. I plan on updating it with a more G1 cartoon face and the means to plug in the faceshield. I love 3d printing. It's making accessible a hobby that I had no idea how to get into. Before 3d printing hit mainstream there were tons of ideas on how I could make a toy into another toy but cutting up a bunch of styrene and using glue and putty didn't really have the same appeal as digitally creating a part and having it printed. The following link sums up my thoughts about it. Now the ideas in my head have an outlet. http://www.3dprinter.net/home-3d-printer-enthusiasts-making-more-than-knick-knacks
  11. I will try that this weekend on my next model. Finally deleted all of the hidden geometry on the helmet and turret so they render correctly and placed an order for the set. Can't wait to get it. Used the name Markusius (game handle) with my storefront name Soulkatana since I still own a web domain and twitter by the same name.
  12. That's my thoughts right now. I may switch up and make some guns or crank out some of those heads Hellscream85 is looking for. Slicing the bottom out of a sphere was giving me issues last night. Intersecting faces was removing part of the sphere above the intersecting plane and below. Follow path didn't help much either. Any tips on making a ball joint or a good free plugin? As soon as I get a good ball joint then I'll just save it and resize it each time its needed.
  13. Uploaded the turret and helmet/head portion to Shapeways last night and it appeared vertical in the preview. So I reoriented the pieces and the files failed the internal tests. Tonight I'll upload it again and order it in white flexible for some test shots. OMG FUD is expensive. $40 for the helmet in FUD and it's only 60 mm (2.3 inches) from front to back when the turret is unattached. I see what you meant about the OP armor being an expensive set. Yeah, not happening at that price. Going to start a game accurate FOC Grimlock sword in multiple sizes next. The one that comes in the voyager package is off a bit and I wanted to tackle a weapon before diving back into the Movie Leader Prime Power Armor.
  14. This is a WIP of a custom Omega Supreme that I've been working on. The tank is almost complete and just waiting for the head and paint. Below is a shot of the tank.
  15. I'll start a WIP thread for the custom this is for and add a nicer render of the head that will be printed. Didn't get it uploaded yet though, but when I can get the turret connector finished I'll upload the no-face version. Last night I was working on a more G1 accurate face but the way Omega's face has curves was giving me some issues. Tried using the follow path extruder accross the top of the forhead and it wasn't working the way I needed it too. Instead making a sphere and useing it to create the different curves should work better. What kind of clearance do you use between joints? Like between ball and socket joints? Do you build it exact? For example build a 5mm socket with 5mm ball for print or do you create a 5mm ball socket with a 4.8mm ball?
  16. Does anyone know where to get a bunch of screws suitable for building customs? I'm piecing together my Omega Supreme but would like to attach some of the parts with screws.
  17. Blech, Monday...

  18. Leader sized DOTM Optimus Armor. Yeah, I have no idea how much it will cost. I'm trying to talk the wife into a 3D printer by the end of the year. Lol, like that's going to happen. Maybe. This is the almost final Omega head:
  19. After looking this morning at the different material specs and bounding box sizes I may go with Fine Detail Plastic on the Gun turret and Frosted Ultra Detail on the rest of the head. And looking at the G1 figure I may move to a different way to connect the turret to the head. Either way I'm trying to have it uploaded to Shapeways this weekend. Thought about doing Alumide for my DOTM Optimus Power Armor Exoskeleton. That would definetly give it a nice ancient or industrial look. WuLongToys page liked. Great concept on the Action Formers. Oh man, polished Alumide would be a sweet look on the endoskeletons.
  20. So FUD is brittle? Cool, thank you I'll keep that in mind. Might go with a more G1 toy hose design.
  21. Planning on printing this helmet in FUD for a custom Omega the son and I started a while back. The head and paint are all thats left for the tank. Still need to tweak the cannon mount, add panel lines, and seperate the face shield so it can come off and show the face. I'm trying to model this head off the Dreamwave Omega Supreme.
  22. Wu, have you tried anything in frosted ultra detail yet? I need to get a Omega Supreme head printed off but I'm not too fond of the white and flexible powdered look. Are those bounding boxes the bed sizes that can be printed?
