Boy, Gizmodo tried to talk about this (and others), but...well, this is what happens when you have a non-fan/collector write a piece...
What about equally tall 2-foot Fortress Maximus preceding this figure by 26 years? Well, to be fair, ToyFair evidently forgot about that too, when they dubbed this figure the biggest Transformer EVER, so can't fault the writer completely for that. And, it's not "Predacon King Dragon"...just Predaking. :doh
But about this titan: IMPRESSIVE! :thumb
Was Fort Max made initially by Takara or Hasbro back then? If it was Takara then that would make this Metro the biggest TF Hasbro has ever made :D
-
metro will be so awesome when he is in my hands
Or when your in his hands. He's so big :D
-
He looks great! I wonder if they lost the ability to call him Blitzwing and are just calling him Astrotrain.

The thighs look pencil thin but other then that it looks nice.

Hey man you got the stuff?
Yeah I got your stuff, you got my money?
Yeah I got the money, let me see the stuff.
You don't see nothing until I see the money!
Stand off.
This MP Soundwave is nice... but this Laserbeak is a KO!!! *pulls gun*
You trying to F#ck me man?!
No please! I got a family!
I want you to take that Dollar General Backstop and dig your own grave with it!!

It helps that I'm a Soundwave fanatic.

Not at all. I love this set.

I bought Prime out of the back of a guy's trunk. No joke. A member of this board got me in touch with someone in my area and I drove out to a neutral site and purchased Prime, TRU Commemorative Soundwave and Takara Reissue Soundwave. Just like a drug deal.

Broken link.

Just by looking at them I'd say they look to be deluxe sized. But thats just by looking at them so who knows.

Takara Soundwave is the only MP I'll shell out the cash for. I can do just fine with Hasbro versions of Grimlock, Prime, SS, etc. but Soundwave is my favorite character, and I want the best version. Unless the Hasbro version is identical of course. Grimlock was pretty close except he didn't come with as many accessories which is fine for Grim, but unacceptable for Soundwave as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't Soundwave just come with Laserbeak anyway? I think I just talked myself out of Takara.

Wait, that's Breakdown and Wildrider....why is one of the next 2 a Ferrari Enzo enspired vehicle? I think these guys look incredible so far, and I would expect no less from FP. I wanna see Motormaster and the combined mode as that will really make or break this set. I am crying since I can't keep up with all the figures coming out now....my wallet is bleeding...
Like you said, its FP. They've done plenty to earn my trust. I'm sure Motormaster and Menasor are going to be mightily impressive. I'd preorder on the spot if funds weren't the issue.

Just please no more Soundwaves. My wallet can't take it.

Whats up with the Concept image since the report says there were no images of the figures on RobotKingdom? Also, the poll reads "How would you Generations Springer and Astrotrain Voyager?" ummmm.
I share with the communities excitement over voyager triple changers and am fine with the character selections by Hasbro, however I also share the grief of the community at not having Blitzwing. Unless Springer is fantastic, I'm sticking with Warbot but Astrotrain might be the first new figure to bring me out of my self-imposed Transformers exile. At least until tax return time when I finally get an MP Soundwave.

A vague homage, I agree, but it's not a replacement figure. It's like Darksteel, where they take a couple design ques. Darksteel is not supposed to be the Quickstrike character, it's just some guy who looks a bit like Quickstrike. This looks a bit like Blackarachnia, but it's not her either.
Its as vague a homage to sixteen years worth of characters as a nuke is a polite suggestion to surrender.
Ha!

An "optional" member? That sounds cool and stupid at the same time. Cool because more is better. Stupid because more in this case means more kibble (it has to be just deadweight if it's optional to form the gestalt). Not impressed its a Sabertooth Cat though. Doesn't really fit with the Predacons who are comprised of non-extinct animals. Plus it sounds like it could just be Rampage with big fangs attached.
-
There is a picture of concept art in the gallery sporting Blackarachnia colors.
About the motorcycle mode, I know she herself was never one but her original toy was a clone of Tarantulus and his Transmetal form had a motorcycle mode. A very large stretch, heh.

hasbro is having all the fan sites take down the pictures...
Probably 'cause they don't want it to kill off Voyager sells! :tfpwn
Too late.

Just seeing the word "Not" in front of their names makes me want to "Not" buy it. Are these officially the names of the figures or is this the work of TFans journalism? I submit to the fandom that we bury this practice and just call the Elephant in the room what it is: an Elephant. Or in this case, Shockwave. Not "Not" Shockwave. It's Shockwave.
That is a strange thing of which to be bothered by.
It sure is. Just think its silly to do. It's not really keeping anything a secret from Hasbro and it was silly of me to bring up in the first place.
On topic: Quakewave is meh. I'd rather Fansproject do it but Combiners is where its at I guess. Can't wait until they eventually move on to Headmasters. The world needs a good Snapdragon and Apeface.

So they're jumping into the Combiner game, eh? I just saw Divebomb and Tantrum up for preorder on BBTS for close to $100 each. They look nice but damnit I need an MP Soundwave next.

The T-Rex head is sort of necessary. I know he took it off sometimes in the show but a retool to give us the option would be nice. Surely he doesn't need that dino-head to kibble up his back.
And lose the sword and shield and give him a rubber ducky proper!
Actually if this came with a rubber ducky I'd buy it just for that. I wonder if we'll get a Transmetal version? Seems like this mold would be better suited for that version of Megs,
