  8. My unboxing and review of Fans hobby Lightning Eagle is up! Fans Hobby as usual doesn't disappoint. I also like the preview of Machine Eagle (Machine Wars Optimus Prime) in the instructions. Can't for that to come out.

  9. My review of Civil Warrior's CW-01 General Grant aka Masterpiece War Within Optimus Prime. I do have some QC issues with this figure. This is a new 3P company and I would very much like to give them a chance at their after sales support. I hope it will be a positive outcome. Overall I am generally pleased with the figure design.

  11. Tonight on GotBot Goes Live, we covered all my reaction to the TF Con reveals, as well as, those from the galactic Odyssey line and more. Plus, we talk about an odd listing and stump a lot of people with this week's trivia. Finally, we top things off with an unboxing!

  14. Which is you favorite version of Magnus? Combiner Wars or Siege?

  15. Thanks! I prefer the scale and robot mode look of Siege, but the vehicle mode of CW. Can't really go wrong with either IMO.

  16. It is close, but I think the Combiner Wars one is a better toy because it is bigger and the alt mode is more functional as a car carrier.

  17. Despite my issues with both Siege and Earthrise i feel as generations lines they are on the right track. Focusing on the figures rather than forcing a gimmick like they did in Prime Wars. However every other leg of Hasbro has been super weak Cyberverse and Netflix for example are either poorly made like in cyberverse and Netflix is just a bunch of lazy repaints. Masterpiece has been super hit or miss as of late by forcing super toon accuracy on the robot mode. Overall Studio series the best line as it only has a few duds over it's huge run as a line.

  18. He's finished, a Siege style Vehicon based off the Decepticon Brute/Drone from War for Cybertron game. Vehicon was made from an upscaled Sideswipe KO, modded Dinobot ConstructBots Strafe head, and some movie Hound weapons. He was primered with Bulldog Adhesion promoter and painted using Tamiya/Testors lacquers and neon paint detailing that shows up great under a black light. Vehicon's paint job is metallic black with Mr Hobby premium gloss sealer. For more pics head to his page here: Custom Vehicon, voyager scale

  23. "Bad" as in poorly made. Most are. But I think you will find many collectors have some for different reasons. I personally like the mashed up ones where they copy stuff in the wrong way.

  25. I never got the Henkei version, but I really do love the one that came in the TRU 2-pack with the good version of Evasion Mode Prime. I think the chrome bits are really sharp, and he generally just looks like an awesome (and very Japanese) take on Prime. He's the only Classics figure I still display.

  26. Coming up on four years since the last show in 2016, we've begun to see some signs of activity coming from Botcon once again over the last couple of days! The botcon.com website was brought back, at first appearing as it had just after Botcon 2016, but then changing to a message declaring that it was now under "renovations". 33. It's strange I don't mind if another collector touchs one of my pieces. Because there is a level of respect there they know how to handle it. But if anyone else goes for one it's a different story.

  36. You forgot to mention sloppy paint apps. I can't find myself able to commit to spend almost $600 for a Siege line character after the disastrous paint apps that were applied to Jetfire. It was a beautifully sculpted design ruined by cheap paint apps. Unicron looks like a solid design but what am I going to get when it comes off the line? I can't expect it to look as clean as that prototype. That is for sure. Until hasbro addresses that, it's a hard sell for me.

  37. Basically, anything they can do to pass the risk off or eliminate it. A preorder threshold means that if it fails they're still out the development costs but nothing else. Probably wouldn't be good to have a $600 shelfwarmer out there. And likewise I'm sure the cost is partly because of the low production run. They probably won't reduce the cost if they end up producing more than expected, but I'm sure only doing 8,000 of these is factored in to the big bite there. But I do think it'll make it with over 1K in the first 24 hours. When it gets a broader announcement with the SDCC events the

  39. Specifically so they don't spend a couple million on molds and other production costs on something that might end up not selling well enough at retail for them to recoup their costs. This way, they either for sure have enough buyers to cover the production costs, or they don't make the item.
