3,500.00 JPY = 33.8415 USD

so to me, no make sense.

I take it that's the price in Japan.

They have to get it somehow in Japan so either buying from another store there or having people buying them. IN case the latter, those people need money for their time.

Shipping to the USA (plus import taxes??)

Handling in the USA and of course the expenses of the store selling them in the USA. (They also spent time on it and time is money.)

Profit for the US seller.

So double the Japanese price doesn't seem so bad. Best to buy from e-bay local sellers without all the extra people in between.

EDIT: Oh, still not interested :P. But as far as opinions go, I'd much prefer the colors from the original toy (a dark blue) to the cartoon or the RM version.

Seriously, if two deluxe sized figures for $140 makes sense, how does four deluxes and a voyager for 300-something not?

That's just some straight up irrational Botcon-hate, right there.

Yaaargh!! Ah whants muh Thundercracker!! I still think that Hasbro should do so much more to to give the American fans what they want. Do you know how rediculously popular a Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust set would have been or would be?? I'm still sour at that Bot-Con thing. ~_~

that's also BS, they'll show up for the $28.00 eventually.

...should they be mass market releases.

Correct, every Japanese store exclusive I've ever seen has gone for at least twice its retail cost when purchased from a reseller that operates in/ships to the US. What's even more of an unknown is that Thundercracker is coming from a Japanese on-line store of which I think few ever heard of before, and if eHobby doesn't take orders from the US, I wouldn't get my expectations high that this other store will either. For all we know there could end up being fine print that states, "offer only good in Japan" that we won't know about until the site goes live later tonight...

As popular as the other seekers that shelfwarmed? Or the Magnus/Skywarp set that was clearance'd the week it was put on shelves?

Okay, only Ramjet shelfwarmed. Screamer sold pretty well, and I never saw the Magnus Skywarp two-pack... and I freaking looked for it.

To be honest, though, I think Hasbro made the right choice. Releasing six versions of basically the same mold at that point in time was a bad idea. At least this way, in their minds, that the whole set would get out to the fans.

I don't think anybody anticipated the level of success the movie line as had. Now, they might be able to get away with six versions of a very good mold (Hi, 08 Bumblebee), but back then? It would've been foolish to do so.

... I wish they freaking would rerelease Screamer. I want a Classics Screamer so bad. Had to settle for Henkei.
