Takara released some figs of spike and I think Daniel (in his mech suit). I also think another company like kabaya released (no pepsi) bottle cap figs with spike being one of them.

They looked quite good.

Any idea as to a link?

If I could buy one already made, that would be the best scenario, although I've looked quite a few places.

I do know that they made a toon-accurate version with the Heroes of Cybertron lines, Spike came with Bumblebee, but I think he lacked articulation.

Those pirate guys fit, but they're a tad Lego-man proportioned for realistic. I wish I could get something GI Joe-proportioned, but about 4/5 of that size.

The figures takara made were the ones from the hero of cybertron line but in japan. I bought them but they dont have articulation. The daniel in the exo suit one is about 3 inches tall. try this link its on ebay and there was only the pewter version.

That Daniel looks pretty cool, although I have no use for anything post-TFTM except for a few characters like Ultra Magnus, and Hot Rod. I think it went downhill after Prime died and all the bots were silly future cars.

I let Hot Rod and Magnus stay in the "cool" category since one's a repaint of Prime with a sweet ass trailer, plus he's more old-school looking, and the other's... realistic enough. I also hate any of the G1 characters, like Alpha Trion or the women, that are "Cybertron" vehicles. It defeats the purpose of "Robots in Disguise" if they don't look like realistic vehicles. That's just me.

Rant aside, do you have pics of the Spike figure? I've not gotten a good sense of scale or quality for him from the few pics I've found online. He could look cool just posed, without having to have articulation.

I hate that the one opportunity for them to release humans with the Alternator line was to do slutty Animé characters that had nothing to do with anything. Perfect opportunity. Maybe an MP Bumblebee could come with a first decent spike, but we've seen how their companion figures come out.

Dr. Archeville (WHY?) and Kremzeek (WHY?!?!?) were odd choices. At least Kremzeez looks good, despite being stupid. Dr. Archeville looks absolutely terrible and has no significance at all.

I get if they were to go out and make a human companion series, then okay... Go all out, make a set of the human friends, and villains to boot if you want. Just prioritize so that they make sense.

It's beyond me why they never have included toys of the human characters. They were usually heavily-involved in the earlier season scripts, if only as supporting characters. Significant enough to deserve figures. Same with the Animated line, which I think is the silliest character design yet. But still, can't they make the human figures?

Aha! Found 'em! Here's a couple of pics to illustrate the scale of the M.A.S.K. figure. The scale looks pretty much spot on to me, what do you guys think?

However, on closer inspection, I don't think that there's really enough room inside the Alts. Ultimately they just weren't built to take passengers. :tfmad

I found some figures from the Speed Racer movie that are in scale with Alts. They don't fit inside but have more articulation than MASK. I will post pics later.

Speed Racer figures, that's a good idea! And being short sleeved, Speed's arms would require less modding to resemble a G1 styled Spike.

Although Paul Prime, is this the line you're talking about?

I haven't seen them, but the review says that Speed is 3.5 inches tall, which would make him 7 feet tall, wouldn't it?

I've made the shins removable on a MASK figure, and he's just a little too tall to fit inside Jazz or Smokescreen (I don't think the car interiors are actually 1:24), but he sits fine in Sideswipe. So I guess that's something!

That movie looks terrible, but there MAY be something good from it after all.

Besides brown hair and elfy-sideburns, all you'd need to do to the body is sculpt a pocket and paint it.

That is, if it's the right scale. Are they out in stores yet? Now all we need is a base for the Spike figure.

The Mask guys don't look too bad though. Would be a lot more sculpting though. Good finds... Maybe Target will start carrying the Speed figures? Haven't seen them yet.

Yeah I agree, the MASK figs would require some resculpting. Some have legs that have G1ish boots:

...but none have a torso or arms that could just be repainted. Trimming the sleeves down to give the impression of bare arms may prove to be something of a challenge. I had been thinking of using this one:

...trimming the holster thing off his hip, resculpting the torso to give him a normal belt and hoodie (keep the arms as they are). Paint the pants to look like jeans and viola, a more updated Spike.

But then I keep going back to the Speed Racer figure that Paul Prime suggested... damn, I'm going to find one of those in the shops tomorrow and measure it myself. I'm hoping like crazy that he's only three inches tall!! And if he is, I'm buying one and making a G1 Spike like this:
