WIP Voyager Prime

Well, when I say WIP....

 

I mean this is literally the first stage.

Just primed him white (although I really should have primed him grey, because he's now pink where the red is and white where the blue/metal is)

 

 

 

And then gave him a wash on all the parts i'm going to get looking like metal.

 

Opinions on it so far? I'm going to drybrush metal colour over the black but don't know whether to use acrylic or enamel.

 

Also, can't decide on what character to make him- Magnus or Nemesis?

 

I'm figuring that Nemesis would be a hell of a lot easier......

 

According to sources its very hard covering up all the red on this figure.

I like the dirtiness of it thus far... please don't make the mistake of makin' him look all "bright and shiney", like most painters...

 

The look you have for the body looks about right (maybe it's just the flash though...), but I'd try to hold that grungy palette when you paint him.

 

Might not be a bad idea to do a nemesis... but w/o goin' straight black...

 

Throw in some grays and maybe a forest green...

No... I like it thus far...

 

I wouldn't add more drybrushing personally, but that's just me...

 

Personally, it was the flaws (filth) in the movie that sold these characters, (which is why I hated BB's upgrade to the concept camaro), so the more like a truck that's been fashioned into a robot this thing looks, the better it looks to me...

 

 

....was trying the other day to figure out how to make auto-morphing arms that turned into the nose of the truck... but that may be out of my league (just hatin' the backpack...)

 

Keep up the good work on this paint job though... and it'd be interesting to see a Ultra Magnus repaint of this sculpt....
