The first ball-joint...

Snapes on a Plane

So I was messing with some of my G1 figures this morning and something caught me by slight surprise. I have never paid attention to the fact that Wreck-Garr has ball-joints on his shoulders.

Then I got to thinking as I looked at my collection.... Is he the first Transformer to use this kind of joint? And furthermore, is he the only G1 figure who has them? I was wracking my brain and thought maybe someone here could shed some light. Am I overlooking someone obvious?

You're right. I knew I was overlooking something...

I forgot that several of the smaller combiner bots used them to connect their arms.

... i guess nobody noticed the potential.

Until later-G2 and BW :D :clap :boogie

well, plenty of go-bots had ball joints before Transformers. But technically as far as Transformers go, the earliest would be the arm on Optimus Prime's trailer.

I wonder which toys were designed first, seeing as how TFs were originally Diaclone toys, and Go-bots were Machine Robo in Japan? :schin
