I solved the G1 Constructicon paradox

Wasn't it implied that Autobots and Decepticons were at peace during certain periods in Cybertronian history, such as when Starscream and Skyfire made their expedition to Earth? Maybe the Constructicons built Megatron during one of those periods.

That still doesn't solve the fact that Megatron later built the Constructicons on Earth. :P

 

There are several possibilities that don't require time travel.

 

1: It was not the Constructicons we know who built Megatron, but simply some lookalikes. Perhaps green and purple are common 'builder' colors on Cybertron. It's not as if we get a good close-up look, and the details of the builders seem a little different to the Constructicons we know.

Or maybe G1's continuity was so bloody awful that it was a minor miracle that Megatron was a Decepticon in every episode?

The ones built on Earth were not the same Constructicons that were brainwashed by the Robosmasher. Those Constructicons were sent back in time to build Megatron and later, they died from the strain caused by the experimental time travel process. When the Decepticons got to Earth, Megatron built a new set of Constructicons because he desperately needed more troops, he was impressed by the original Constructicons, and he still had their specs from when the Robosmasher scanned them.

Given the nature of the Universe, it's entirely possible that sending someone back in time to prevent this thread is what gave hornet the idea for this thread in the first place.
