New Robot Replicas

So when are we getting Blackout, Bonecrusher, Starscream, Ironhide and Ratchet?

Probably never. In fact, there were Robot Replicas I never even saw in stores the first time around. I don't think I ever saw a Jazz or Bumblebee RR (the only two I would've considered buying), mostly just a lot of Megatrons with gimpy arms. Maybe we'll get lucky and Kaiyodo will do Revoltechs instead...

I was thinking that it would be cool to get some G1 Robot Replicas, but then I remembered there's already Revoltech. And Classics (which are poseable and actually transform) and figured that would be a stupid idea. What's the overal consensus on RRs? I've never picked one up nor ever had the desire to do so.

In my opinion, they had great potential, but the execution was mediocre overall. They suffered from overly soft plastics (mold detail was terrible on some figures), and they weren't painted nearly as much as they should have been. Hasbro's notoriety for skipping all-but-"essential" paint apps was really on display with these figures. Megatron in particular suffered, as he was mostly unpainted and had a face that looked like nothing. His arms were also jointed completely wrong. The best ones are Prime and Bumblebee, but I've seen a more recent version of RR Prime that has a LOT less paint apps than the original (though, inexplicably, it has painted blue eyes that the original did not).

They were thought by some (me included) to be US versions of Revoltechs... now that I've bought Robot Replicas as well as a real Revoltech, I can definitely say that they aren't, at all.

Doesn't sound like I'm missing much. I'd rather spend 10 bucks and buy two sets of Robot Heros anyway.

Exactly my thoughts. I only have Prime and Megatron. Prime is cool, Meg is not. I would have liked at least a RR Starscream with hands...
