Thanks for posting that one. I would have but I didn't want to look for it.

 

This comparison just goes to show how blinded by nostalga people can be.

 

Even in those neon glow colors ani Grimlock looks nothing like Barny. I don't care if you stand em up in those colors the comparison is still off by a lot.

 

I'm beginning to think I may have to digibash G1 Grimlock in those colors.

 

The comparison would be much close in proportions to that of Barny the purple dinosaur.

 

I think the only thing people are hung up on is the massive jaw. Factor that in with the sleeker less chibi body and it closer to Godzilla than anything.

 

the thing that throws people off about animated grimlock (at least to me) is that he looks more cute than the menacing crazy mother fuâ€cker everybody wants grimlock to be. yea sure, his g1 alt wasn't that great, but that was the accepted t-rex back then, and even still i'd prefer it over both animated and energon.

 

it's the style. done in that style it's impossible to be a bad asâ€s flame spewing decepticon munching dinosaur.

well obviously that was all JMO. also, awesome != fuâ€cking gruesome/bad asâ€s/mean/evil/wicked which is what i think grimlock should look like. i mean srsly, if i saw that thing coming at me i'd probably laugh not run screaming in fear as i should.

 

i think thats my biggest problem with this style of animation.

 

don't take me wrong though, i think the kids will eat it up, and i think that you guys that like it should enjoy it and i'm glad for ya. however if somebody asks my opinion or input i just like to provide it. i think it adds to the over-all feel of the board when you have discrepancy amongst it's inhabitants as opposed to everybody just circle jerking over anything plastered with the tf brand (not a slight at anyone mind you, just a generic description).
