New TF:Animated toy shots

Doesn't it bother anyone that CN is taking the new series in a purely kiddy direction aesthetically, which is something NO TF series ever did?

The new style reminds me of CN's Clone Wars, and those were fantastic. The art style has no bearing on the writing and voice acting, anyway, and that's what determines whether animation is quality programming or just kids' stuff. I'm honestly not sure what you mean by kiddie-style animation; kids don't have a lock on enjoying bright colors and clean, simple lines.

I guess I'll be in the minority here, but how can so many people like these horrid designs?

This was the appeal of TFs. Kids loved 'em and the series didn't dumb things like story and values down, so adults also enjoyed them.

I look at these designs, both for the series and the toys, and I see something that skews to only one demographic, that of the young child.

Maybe it's just me. But I surely won't be giving Hasbro my money for these, not when I have to pay exorbitant prices on Ebay to find basic figures in the movie line.

My 10 year old and I were looking at the poster that was posted in the news section a while back and both were really just kind of disgusted by the way many of the characters looked on the poster. However after seeing the toys, and the click from Botcon we both agree that this could be a really good show. Also from what I saw in one part of the clip it looks like the Arcee from the show will be very G1esque, which all of us 80's kids should enjoy. Add that to the Dinobots, and many of the old characters and you just can't loose. As long as the writing is good.

Aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder. These designs appeal to some people and not others. You being in the others in this particular case.

That's all well and good, we all like different things. EP, myself, and I'm sure a few others at least, simply don't like the animation style.

Rather then just saying "to each his own" however, the fans of the animation style are trying to cram it down our throats.

We don't like it, simple as that. Is is possible the writing and voice acting will more then make up for the animation? Yes, absolutely. That still won't change the fact that we don't like the animation style. So rather then trying to lecture us on why we should like it, just accept that there are people out there who like different things from yourself(ves).

You seem to be mixing messages here. I merely stated different people like different things. Never have I told EP what he should like, but he on the other hand, has expressed disbelief at the fact people can like the designs. So if you want to lecture on acceptance, you're talking to the wrong guy.

Supersocialist> I was wondering, all these all the models shown in the article? I was kinda hoping Ratchet would be in there.
