6 Custom Titanium War Within Skywarp

This is my 6†custom Titanium War Within Starscream re-paint to Skywarp since the line has been cancelled and the hope for a Skywarp seeker to go along with SS, Thundercracker, and Sunstorm is slim to none.

Since I’m not a detailed painter and wanted to get this done fast, I just used standard acrylic paints for the purple, black and silver colors and then sprayed it with a semi-gloss coat to seal in the paint. It’s blotchy in some parts when I had to apply multiple coats in some sections but I’m happy to get this done. It’s actually pretty simple to take this toy apart, only around 8-10 screws to manage. So if you want to have your own Skywarp before the Titanium line is long gone, pick up Starscream or Sunstorm popping onto the shelves again.

Don’t remember the actual name of the purple used, I originally tried a dark purple acrylic but it came our almost black. So this one I used is more of a funky-violet/purple color to stand out from the black finish. I hand painted it since I didn’t have any spray paint in black or purple so it took about an a couple hours spread around two days for drying with some additional time to touch-up details.

If any of you have the wide-hipped Titanium Soundwave and don't like him, just paint him black into Soundblaster or something. I didn’t sand or apply primer (no patience), so I’m only transformed him once for pics in jet mode since any joint movement causes paint flakes and then placed back on display in it's box. Might try making a custom box if I have time again.

Too bad you didn't get the paint sealed, because that's a great-looking paint job. My first custom was this Starscream into Sunstorm (right before they announced it, bleah!), so I've got a soft spot for this mold.

Looks good but you git his hips backwards. The screws shoul dface rearward. The paint is super shiny too which is throwing me off a bit since the rest of the WW seekers are matte/flat colors.

Gah! I guess I put the hips on backwards when I put it back together. Good catch. But I did end up sealing it with some semi-gloss coating, the pics make it shiny due to the flash.

Unfortunately I put this puppy in storage and it's under some boxes for me to easily take out to fix, plus I'm onto working on the next project...re-coloring and kit-bashing KO Devastator into Autobot colors and my own new Gestalt (whatever it may be).

Interesting-sounding project! I've got a full-size KO Devastator in my queue as well, so I'm very curious to see what, if anything, you have planned for articulation... or are you "just" repainting?

I *still* haven't figured out what to do with the shoulders of my WST Devastator mod. :/

you can move his shoulders down so he can do the 'you damn kids' fist shake before he pushes someone down the stairs.

Sweet job d00d.
