74-Movie BB Repaint -

Actually those are Wreckage Hands.

I wanted to make a spikey Missle for him like G1 Mirage... but i am not having much luck.

I also managed to lose one of BB's Missles... I dont know what i did with it (I am sure it will turn up somewhere)...

I am really happy with the detailing on the Helmet - although you cant really see it very well in the pictures, i will try and get better pics tonight.

So on the windows - should I paint over the red with a clear? So that it has that glassy look? or will that kill the effect?

I completely love the way the head turned out. And I didn't notice the use of the Wreckage hands before, which is entirely awesome.

Yeah, the windows do look a little clumpy, but you could probably sand and try again without much trouble. :thumb

I guess he's done unless anyone has any suggestions.

I just need to figure out if i am going to do the skull stuff and find some Decep logos for his center chest-piece.

I have some Decep stickers from my Megatron Reissue... I will have to dig that out of storage i guess.

I LOVE the idea and will have to borrow it, if ya' don't mind Hunter. :thumb Great job!

I'd thought about doing a black version of '74 BB <need to find one though> but it never dawned on me to copy "Death Proof." Nice concept. clap.gif

If willing, next time try the Rit Dye "paint" job. Black does color over really well yellow plastics if left sitting in a slow simmer for a few minutes. You'd have to cover/mask off the windows in a creative way so the clearness doesn't become clouded over <I'm going to try using a bit of latex caulking sometime> but it's quick, easy, doesn't rub off joints plus leaves no clumpy paint marks at all.

My compliments all over again. :D

I think your idea is Powerglideing brilliant, you should do Dropkick as the 'Beastbox wagon' from Killbill

I keep thinking that the 74-MBB mold would look great in Black.

And the first thing that occured to me is that if he was black - then he would look like Tarantino's DeathProof Car.

deathproof.jpg

I might actually do this - so i started playing around in photoshop to practice.

The graphic of the skull and cross bones is just one i Googled - but the skull part would be on the hood flap (that reveals, dun-dun-Dun! the skull head), but that would leave the cross bones in bot mode.

One of the things that would have to happen of course is - if you paint all the car parts black -then the Robot parts would have to be something contrasty - I figured a brushed steel/Silver would work (better than white anyway).

The other major change is that I rotated his legs around - i think with a couple of little cuts - this could actually work and it would make the figure look different from BB.

One small detail - I moved up his headlights as if they were super glued all together.

I also might want to swap out the head - but i cant figure how to get it off.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

EDIT: WiP and more pics all the way through but here is the semi final pix:

'74 bee has solid plastic windows, so you wouldn't have to worry about that. The metallic blue might actually stay an ok colour.

On the topic of paint, looking at your pics HR, did you do the whole body with brushes and paint pen the windows? You did a nice job. Close-up and flash pics tend to hilight every little detail. I'm sure it looks even more amazing in person.

Guess my last suggestion would be silver or white d-con symbol. Or, if you don't do the skull a normal one will look fine.
