Problems with Music Label Soundwave?

No prob. I used Total Video Converter to convert all of mine, converts video and audio thankfully. Right next to the mp3 conversion option is a mp2 conversion option. I wonder why the heck half of my songs weren't playing, then I realized I accidently converted them to mp2 without noticing! Sometimes I wonder if I'm illiterate, dislexic, or a combination with ADD. :tfmad

Can't even hold up his gun!

He should be able to. That is of course unless one of his joints came loose. The ball joints can pop out which would result in not being able to hold up the gun. Just pop it back into place and it should be fine. It happened to me once.

you guys should check out foobar2000. it handles everything, just download it and LAME and your good to go. foobar has a great gui, and lame produces the highest quality mp3s.

LAME http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm (this includes a front-end, but i prefer to use foobar)

foobar2000 http://www.foobar2000.org/

both are freeware.

What's the highest bitrate with LAME? I can get 256 outta TVC, and some are already at 320 so I didn't have to do anything with those.

Okay kids...2nd update:

Went to Fry's and got another 1gb mini sd card. Loaded that up and what a surprise, halfway thru the playlist of 600 and some odd mb's of music, it starts to skip and play slow again.

Now before anybody else says it's the battery, the battery is fresh and even if it was the battery, it wouldn't start to skip in the middle of the playlist. It would skip from the very beginning and since this is my 2nd 1gb card, I'm really leaning towards the "Soundwave isn't capable of correctly playing music on a 1gb card."

Anybody else find this out playing a 1gb card?

I'm working with a fully functional Transcend 1GB miniSD card, but my player won't turn on, period. I haven't tried holding the button for thirty seconds though!

Here's the fun part: when I first got him, I didn't have a card--it was still en route. I turned it on just to test, and the light went on fine, sans card. Since then the card came and it won't turn on, no matter how many times I swap batteries or try with or without the card. No blue LED, no sound--so it's not just a dead LED, either.

Well I'll be damned. I hope this isn't just isolated to me. Butit's nice to hear that gb cards are working. I'll try a different brand next.

On second thought...maybe the gb cards are posion. I haven't tried a lower card yet. Is anybody else having an issue with the gb cards? The box and specs say it takes 1gb and I thought maybe mine was a fluke if Socialist is have an issue too, then I don't know.

Sounds like we're having totally different problems, though, 539. If I read correctly, yours turns on but goes apeBlot halfway through--mine, sadly, refuses to power on again, at all!

As for your problem, it just occurred to me that I have had similar issues with older flash-based players. Have you tried moving all your files off the card, formatting, and moving everything back on--effectively defragmenting the card?

How are the file name lengths and how many do you have, total? Does it occur on the same song number even if you change the play order, or is it particular tracks? This might be a file system limitation of some kind ... I wonder if nonstandard, larger allocation blocks would speed things up (like they should) or just break it worse (because they might not be supported by a too-simple file system reader). At any rate reformatting your card *shouldn't* affect the player in any way, so it may be worth an experiment. I significantly improved the card speed on my Treo 650 smartphone by using larger file allocation blocks.
