Whether it's real science or made up technobabble, it's lame.

Oh for God's sakes, don't be such a technophobe. It's not going to break your mind, mass-compression is a relatively simple concept. Just look at the sponge example I used.

Um...it's a franchise about giant robots. A fear of technology is so not the issue, it hurts my head that you would even suggest that.

It's about interrupting the movie's story with a lecture, no matter how simple, so that the general audience can understand why the fanwanky robot can get so big and so tiny at the same time. Just turn Arcee into a car so she's properly tall or leave her robot mode tiny for a motorcycle. There is no need at all to go any other way.

All I should really need to say here is that the "Mr. DNA" cartoon is not anyone's favorite part of Jurrasic Park.

One: It's too difficult to get a slim, feminine robot mode out of car.

Two: Giving her a tiny robot mode will turn Arcee into the frail little female who needs a big strong man to help her. No one will take her seriously that way.

Seriously, it would probably take less than a minute to explain Arcee's ability to compress her mass. It won't turn into some big college style lecture.

Don't be silly. Have you not seen the movie designs? Those thousands of pieces can be arranged in any way they want them to be.

Her actions, not her design, will define her as a frail little female or a tough warrior woman. A car sized robot can need a "man's help" just as easily as a motorcycle sized robot can bust out some kick ass warrior moves.

But such a design wouldn't translate very well into toy form. She would probably be a kibbly shellformer similar to Chromia.

Her actions, not her design, will define her as a frail little female or a tough warrior woman.

And how will she stand her ground against the decepticons if she's barely bigger than a human? She wouldn't be very good for anything other than being the autobots' equivalent of Frenzy.

Judge me by my size, do you?

Besides, Sam killed Megatron and he is, guess what, exactly the size of a human.

We don't need any mass compression/shifting or magic shrinky for anyone.

So, youd prefer if she was like Apache Chief and grew to 'battle size'?

Yes the audience will take that SO seriously now...

That's not the same thing. Sam's the human hero, he's suppose to beat the big bad so the audience can continue to delude itself into thinking that humans aren't completely worthless. Like it or not, the tf's are co-stars so they need to be able to stand on their own since all the real important battles will be won by the humans.

:roll Oh, that's right. I'm having a conversation with the own-species-hating, no-real-world-experience shut-in. That name change caught me off guard.

Yes, Hornet, humans are completely worthless and the only way that the general audience can respect a female character in battle is by making a sci-fi concept even more sci-fi. You can't just write a strong woman character, no one would buy that unless a slight bending of the rules of physics was applied.

*is sorry he said anything at all*

:roll Of course the humans would have been obliterated by Devastator if it werent for Bumblebee's intervention.

Starscream could have taken out all of the F-22s if he wanted. Guess what? He had bigger plans.

The humans totally killed Bonecrusher too.
