A BIG Q on BUMBLEBEE

Maybe it's a mix of the beam Ratchet hit him with AND the Allspark. Maybe Ratchet got the repairs going, and then the Allspark finished the job, but it took a little time after that to fully take effect.

Of course, I'm more inclined to think that the beam Ratchet hit him with was more of a diagnostic tool mixed with a repair tool. Reason being is that after the beam dissapears, you see Ratchet take his finger and tap something (like he's pressing buttons on a small computer) and says it's still not working.

yea, i'm inclined to believe that it's a matter of both working in sync. BB was too busy trying to shrink the allspark to heal himself, although the little contact that he had with it started the laser working, or at least sped it up. hence why you hear more artu noises after the laser and even more after he shrinks the allspark. you'll notice prime sounds excited to hear BB's voice when he says "permission granted".

at least this is how it works in my own little fanboy world

BB's not in the Bay movie, he was in the Beast Wars movie (as Max B).

Also, as DM said - Orci did state that it was solely Ratchet's healing beam, NOT the AllSpark. Pay attention people! ;)

He did agree that the movie could have made it clearer on that issue, but there just wasn't time (always a constraint with filmmaking - hence why Lucas says that movies aren't released, they escape)

Does it really make a difference as to how we interpret it. Besides, it makes more sense than a single beam that has a magical healing ability. It completely takes away from the "realism". If they included a magic beam, they could have included true mass shifting and Prime constantly disappearing trailer.

I say bah to Orci. It was a mix of both pure and simple. It makes the most sense in reality. The Allspark has the ability to repair Frenzy's body, it would only make sense that it either healed Bumblebee or it sped up the beams ability to heal Bumblebee. If that's not how the writers intended for it to work that way, then by all means, Frenzy should not have regained his body.

According to Orci (a writer on the movie) Ratchet's healing laser repaired Bumblebee, it just took time to heal fully. As DarkNarc explained, he begins to say more grunts and noises after Ratchet hits him with the laser. Orci also said that the AllSpark could have healed him, but it was not what the writers intended.

The plot hole widens. If all it took to heal BB was 1 second laser shot to the throat, why didn't they do that back on Cybertron as soon as his vocals were damaged. I don't see the need to make BB unable to speak part of the plot anyway. There wasn't reallya big pay-off for it and it didn't help move anything else along.

Well - I think they were looking at it like this...

Ratchet had been working on his vocal wound for a long time, but he and Bumblebee haven't had direct contact for a good long while too. So to me personally, the healing laser was the newest form of repairing Ratchet had come up with while he and Bumblebee were not together. In other words, it was his most newest, up-to-date repair equipment he's got now, so he was using it for the first time during the "Autobot Introduction" scene. It finally began to work, but was a very slow process. And after Ratchet shoots Bumblebee, he pushes some buttons on his arm, as if to check for a diagonostic test. So to me it seems as if right then Ratchet finally found the best way to fix Bumblebee up, but still took a while for it to help his natural systems repair themselves.
