MP Megatron's Cannon...

Recommended Posts

Hey TFans!

I'm having some trouble posing my Megatron with his BFG.

Any remotely cool poses I give him seem to slowly slip away once I slide his Fusion Cannon onto his forearm clip...

He's not as balanced as MP1...

Anyone have any cool poses (or tricks) they can share with the arm cannon?

He's not as balanced as MP1...

That's because MP-01 doesn't have a fusion cannon and he's a far chunkier robot - a luxury of being able to transform into a chunky-arse truck, whereas Megatron is slender because he has to transform into a slender gun mode (although Takara have done an admirable job in bulking out the robot mode as much as they can with the pop out arm panels and V-shaped torso etc). Having said that, Megatron is a very right-heavy son-of-a... well... son of a gun!

But here's what works for me... see how the legs have a natural tendency to rock slightly side to side - i.e.: you can push the feet slightly apart or together without actually moving the hip joints. Gently push the feet outward to the point where you can feel the legs gently pushing back against you wanting to return to its natural position. At this point, set the feet onto the display surface. What happens here is that you've created a more stable base by slightly widening his stance, and at the same time forced his feet to "clamp" onto the ground with that subtle inward force now pushing against the surface instead of your hands/fingers, thus creating a mild anchoring effect.

Try it.

I'm too lazy to explain too much right now so I'll just post a couple pics of how I've got mine posed on the shelf. He's a little tricky to get into this pose, but once you do he's set. Taking advantage of the ability of his hips to swivel helps. Kinda does what Goktimus said. Only difference is his feet are in a V position rather than his legs. Dunno, what to suggest really other than finding a nice flat surface and try some poses out, it's the fun of having the figure really. Oh, and one thing I found useful for posing figures is take the feet and the bottom of the legs and put them in the position you want them, hold them in place with a couple fingers and try to get the torso into a centered position. This usually works well for me.

I had a bit of difficulty getting him to stay positioned, but I was able to find the right spot for him..and the feet trick does help also...I wish he had a waist swivel though :tftongue . here's a few shots of mine.mp5070xh6.jpg

I should be getting mine in two weeks.

Crap crap crap i cant wait!

You'll love him when u get him. Be careful the first time u transform him...it's a bit tricky. And he gets flip-floppy when ur in the process of putting into gun mode...R u getting unmodified version or modded?

unmodded from a dear friend in Japan.

the modded part of mine was easy to take out, all i did was use my pliers and pulled out the orange plug with no problem. bbts use very little glue in mine so there was no damage or lose of paint.
