If you had to assemble a modern representation of the original 28 Transformers first offered in the 1984 US catalog - who would you put in the group? I'm not stuck in '84 but these were the first guys in the stores, in the comics, and on the show that started it all. I like an homage every now and then in between the new guys and the repaints. Have fun and good luck finding a Rumble/Frenzy and a Buzzsaw/Laserbeak replacement :thumb

^ I'd say here would be a good place to start looking. You can pick the colour, then the alt mode to get close matches.

 

I'm gonna have a think in the shower & try to make a list. (I've done similar with my A/E/C/C 'bots by just putting all the G1 homages together on 1 shelf.)

My idea wasn't a very good one - the Autobot cars might as well all be ALTs. All we need is a Ratchet/Ironhide and a Trailbreaker mold and we've got the 11 original cars.

That's kind of what I'm doing. But I'm kitbashing them from existing molds. A few already done, much more to do. I haven't decided on Optimus or Megatron yet, cause every new series seems to be better molds than the last. Are Classics the best or will something ever better be coming soon?

Well, for my Sideswipe, it's a WIP and I've already made the mods so Hot Shot's hood can rotate around and become his chest. (Just have to resculpt the head, create a rotating wiast and make some feet. Which will take a while since I have 3 other bashes in progress too and have very limited time.)

 

And as for Sunstreaker, this quick digibash should show why I will be kitbashing U Downshift.
