Paramount Takes Aim @ Teen, Adult, Global Audienc

The Hollywood Reporter has published an article that talks about Paramount Pictures International's (PPI) aim at more than just the kids, but the teens and adults as well. PPI is more or less not going for the kids. The reason? The name itself is doing it for them: "'Given its strong presence as a toy, children will be drawn to the film as a matter of course,' [PPI executive vp international marketing Jon Anderson] says. 'They are going to want to see it.'" So the hardest part comes for the teens and the adults, which is where they aim to "dispel 'any preconceived notion that this is a kid's movie.'" Also, as it has become common for blockbusters, it will hit foreign market theaters almost simultenously. This will allow PPI to better realize profits quicker than a slw, rolled-out release would be. Read the rest of PPI's marketing blitz at Hollywood Reporter. Thanks to Seibertron.com for the heads up.
