Will someone explain "Transformers Legends" to me?

See title. I continuously read its name on the Transformers Wiki but can't find much more data on it. What/when/etc.

I have the book, its great, the reason you cant find the information you seek is because, it is not one big novel, each "chapter" if you will is a short story. I got it for $1 at my local dollar general and am quite pleased with it, i havent seen it sence thougth and this is the first timr ive seen it mentioned online

 

the stories arnt all from one generation, the book covers Beast Wars, Beast Machines(not to bad lol), G!, Armada

 

my favorites include Prime "Spark", "Joyride" and "A Meeting of Minds"
