Wait, they didn't bother to finish painting Dr. Arkevil? They took this whole, "model kit" thing a bit too far. Even the Robotech Masterpiece collection has pilot figures that are fully painted.

It would ironic if a Hasbro MP Starscream ended up being the better version due to sometimes questionable safety standards.

BTW:

I'm pretty sure I had another post in this thread, one with all kinds of examples of Japanese F-15 fighter jets that are in the same gray as Americans use. What happened to it?

:wtf err .... its still on the first page where you posted it ......

No, that's American F-15s. I had another post with Japanese ones, making the point that it's not just America that uses gray on it's jets. I might have posted it in another thread, there are one too many MP SS threads here.

You did, it's in the Kitbash thread I believe. I saw it there earlier today.

I cant even tell you what color it is. sometimes it's Gray. Then it's blue. Then it's green.

My point is still "who cares if it's not gray". It's the color of the freaking sky, I'm fine with that.

I care, because it makes so much sense that I can't let it go. Gray is used on real jets and gray was used on G1 Starscream, so why not put the two together? I don't need any blue nosecone or tailfins. A gray jet with the reds and blues that MP SS currently has would have made it perfect.

My Navy friend asked me why the jet was so dark if they were going for realism. Lacking two cents, I thought we'd just share a :beer

d'oh!!

well I got nothing then.... maybe Takara just didn't want it to look unpainted?

although being the color of the sky is still good enough for me in my non-military-trained brain

I'm impressed z4nd4r, not to many people can get Pete to concede defeat. I guess that all the other people on the boards that have been saying the same thing about the G1 gray being more realistic didn't persuade him, but your unnamed Naxy friend did. Seriously though, I think that most people do wonder why they went w/ the unrealistic blue/green/gray for SS when the realistic gray would have been more in line w/ Kawamori's intent and satisfied the G1 purists.
